February Vacation Time!
It's time to get away and play in the snow.  Whether you need a family vacation or a break to celebrate Valentine's Day, our mountains and trails are blanketed in white for your winter pleasure.  Pack up the kids or just the two of you and head on over to the Kingdom for some fun in the snow!

CRAFTSBURY MARATHON
February 1

Craftsbury Outdoor Center's 33rd Annual

classic technique ski marathon. Point to point from Highland Lodge over some of the most beautiful trails in New England. 

 

SKATE THE KINGDOM
February 1 & 2
 
1 or 5 mile distance skate on Lake Memphremagog on Saturday the 1st and the fun continues on Sunday with a Wild Skate!  It's an end-to-end 25 mile international skate between Magog, QC and Newport, VT.  Visit www.skatethekingdom.com to learn more.
BURKE WINE & ART SNOWCASE
February 15
 
 
Mix & mingle and sample fine wines from across the globe while meeting local artists and viewing their work.  Exhibits include photography, paintings, wildlife wood carvings & mosaic masterpieces.  Visit www.burkevermont.com to learn more.

WINTER FESTIVALS!
It's time for winter festivals in the Kingdom and there are several to choose from.  The fun starts February 1st in Newport with pond hockey, figure skating, an illuminated ice castle and more!  Next up is the Island Pond Winter Carnival February 14 - 16 featuring cardboard sled races, sleigh rides, an ice fishing derby and snowmobile tours.The Lyndon/Burke Snowflake Festival starts on the 15th and offers two weeks of fun including ski races, sledding, a winter bike race, chowderfest and a huge silent auction. Barton celebrates winter on the 22nd with an ice fishing derby, demos of heritage crafts and a chili contest!   For more events happening this month, visit www.TraveltheKingdom.com

February means school vacation week and finding lots of ways to keep the kid busy and enjoying the outdoors.  A great place to stay with plenty of fun for the whole family is the Wildflower Inn located on 570 acres.  On site and nearby are trails for snowshoeing, cross country skiing, fat biking plus hills for sledding or you can arrange a sleigh ride.  Downhill skiing is just a five minute drive away.  The Inn offers two and three room family suites, has a restaurant on site and is pet friendly!

Whether it's just the two of you, the whole family or you're vacationing with a group of friends, options abound for house rentals, cozy cabin stays or slopeside retreats.  SnoBowl Properties offers a range of choices from condos to chalets available for just a couple of nights, a week or the whole season.   Most are located on the mountain or just a quick drive to Jay Peak and some have amenities like fireplaces, whirlpool tubs and laundry rooms.

Together they provide many recreational activities throughout the year.
