When Donald Trump announced his candidacy for the presidency, few took him seriously. "He's just grandstanding," said some. "He's doing it for ___________" (fill in the blank--publicity, money, notoriety, nobody knows).
"He's a clown, an idiot, a fool, a bombastic blowhard..."
Those were among the nicer things said about Mr. Trump who ironically is accused of being nasty.
The moonbat fringe accused Mr. Trump of being sexist even though his organization hires as many female executives as male and their remuneration is the same or more. The majority media and their amen chorus on the Moonbat Right accused him of being racist assuming if they all kept silent, the public would never know how he outraged the old guard in Palm Beach when he opened a club that accepted Jews and blacks (1). He supposedly is against Jews even though his daughter, son-in-law and three grandchildren are Jewish.
At the end of June 2015, to everyone's surprise, Trump led the polls. Former governor Jeb Bush (who had $120 million in his campaign fund) was back in third. George Will, Stephen Hayes, Charles Krauthammer and all the panelists on Fox News's Special Report piled on, giving Trump no chance of being the nominee. The commentary from these representatives of the Globalist-Open Borders-Amnesty-Conservatives (GOBACs) was more brutal than the slings and arrows coming from the Left.
"He'll be gone by August," sang the GOBAC choir.
When August came and went, and Trump still topped the polls, the GOBAC chorus launched a capella into a new tune: Noel, Noel, he'll be gone by Christmas. The magpies in the #NeverTrump campaign (about as effective as the #BringBackOurGirls campaign) Twittered away. The Wall Street Journal, National Review and Weekly Standard joined the amen chorus. Bret Stephens became so unhinged he attacked Trump's supporters (2). Stephens now advocates voting for Mrs. Clinton in order to save the Republican Party which is akin to a surgeon administering a lethal injection in order to stop bleeding after s/he severed an artery.
At the Republican Convention, Cruz activists staged a last ditch attempt to deprive Trump of the nomination. This included a nationally televised, out-in-the-open, genuine, authentic, full-blown snit-fit by former Virginia gubernatorial candidate, Ken Cuccinelli (proving Virginians in their wisdom knew better than to elect this moonbat to office). Two nights later, Ted Cruz, who had accepted an invitation to speak, figuratively dropped trou(sers) and mooned the Republican electorate (3).
Of the seventeen contenders, eleven turned out to be honorable gentlemen (Huckabee, Paul, Santorum, Christie, Gilmore, Carson, Rubio, Jindal, Walker, Perry and Trump), two (Fiorina and Pataki) have disappeared into the woodwork and four (Bush, Graham, Cruz and Kasich) showed why the wisdom of the American voter trumps* the collective wisdom of the GOBACs.
The Republican Convention is over. Mr. Trump is the nominee. Like it or not, he won the vote, overcoming the collective of the GOBACs on both the Left and the Right. The Class of 2016 will go forward. Some should and will be considered for future office. The four who make up the de'classe' of 2016, should be relegated to the dustbin of history with Senator Ted Cruz scraping the bottom of the barrel. None should ever be considered for elective office ever again. America needs men and women of character who will keep their word and honor the pledges they sign. Americans deserve better than these.
Meanwhile Crooked Hillary just selected Goofy as her running mate. It doesn't get any better than this.

(3) Later when Senator Cruz tried to walk back his disastrous performance, he complained that Mr. Trump had attacked his wife and his father. What he didn't explain was that Mrs. Cruz was campaigning for the senator ergo a member of his team, that Mrs. Trump had done no campaigning and most importantly that Senator Cruz's surrogates had released a photo of Mrs. Trump posing naked before her marriage when she was a model. So far as the attack on Senator Cruz's father, Rafael Cruz was actively campaigning against Mr. Trump at the time.
