Cat Scratch Fever
"They're rioting in Africa New Mexico*,
"They're starving in Spain.
"There are hurricanes in Florida,
"And Texas needs rain.
"The whole world is festering with unhappy souls,
"The French hate the Germans, the Germans hate the Poles
"Italians hate Yugoslavs, South Africans hate the Dutch,
"And I don't like anybody very much..." (1)
*On May 25, 2016, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which, as of this writing still is one our states, a mob of "liberal" activists and illegal aliens holding anti-Trump signs and waving Mexican flags exercised their right to free speech by attempting to silence Donald Trump. In keeping with their Constitutional right of assembly they threw rocks and bottles at police on foot and on horseback in an attempt to keep Mr. Trump's supporters from assembling (2) (3). Is this a great country or what?
It is not known whether Rich Lowery, the editor of National Review, attended the gathering, however, Mr. Lowery might not have felt too out of place since he recently met with a paid Hillary protester to discuss how to stop Mr. Trump. This should give a new meaning to both "conservative" and "protester" (4).
Mr. Lowery along with fellow "conservatives" Dr. Charles Krauthammer, William Kristol, Mitt Romney, Stephen Hayes and George Will are part of the semi-hysterical #NeverTrump movement who find Mr. Trump's message of closing the borders, fair... rather than (finding) free trade and vetting Muslims who might be potential terrorists... anathema to "conservatism."
Readers of this blog might have forgotten that in January 2009, "conservative" Mr. Lowery along with fellow "conservatives" George Will, Dr. Charles Krauthammer, Michael Barone, David Brooks, Bill Kristol, Lawrence Kudlow and Peggy Noonan had dinner with incoming president, Barack Obama, at Mr. Will's home (5). Mr. Lowery already had deemed Mr. Obama "the only presidential candidate from either party about whom there is a palpable excitement". (ibid)
Dr. Krauthammer opined that Mr. Obama would be "a president with the political intelligence of a Bill Clinton harnessed to the steely self-discipline of a Vladimir Putin," (we know how well that worked out) who would "bestride the political stage as largely as did Reagan." (ibid)
Not to be outdone, "conservative", William Kristol, editor of the Weekly Standard wrote that he looked forward to Mr. Obama's inauguration with a surprising degree of hope and good cheer. (ibid)
Keep in mind, dear readers, these are the "conservatives" who claim Mr. Trump is not a conservative.
There are many who believe the current election is not between Republicans and Democrats but rather between Globalists and Mr. Trump who makes no secret that he, if nominated and elected, will put America first.
Apparently, to Globalists such as the above, (putting America first) is no longer "conservative".
