Do Republicans Want to Win...or Not?
By Chuck MacNab

A Republican candidate has now emerged, as a result of an overwhelming urge for change among voters. That candidate is Donald J. Trump. He has won the most votes, the most Delegates and is now in a position where he is the only Republican candidate who can obtain enough delegates to win the nomination before the Convention convenes.

Cruz and Kasich are "spoilers" at this point and appear to be working in conjunction with the Republican Party "Establishment" to defeat the candidate who is clearly the people's choice to be the nominee of the Party. At this point, further opposition is COUNTER PRODUCTIVE IN THE EXTREME and, unless they want to lose in November, it is time for the Party elites to stop spending money to defeat another Republican and get behind Donald Trump. The money being wasted to fight Trump is only further dividing the voters and will be sorely needed in the general election.

It is also time to stop paying attention to "polls" that predict Trump will lose to Clinton or a Democrat. Nobody knows for sure what the outcome of the election will be at this point and polls done by a plethora of self-interested parties and given credence in order to capture eyeballs are totally meaningless. In short, it is time for the Republican "Establishment" and their surrogates to cease and desist in their opposition to Donald Trump and push for his selection to be the Party's nominee. This will go a long way toward uniting the Party for victory in November. Further chaos generated by behind the scenes power brokers and Machiavellian disruption all the way to the Convention will further turn off a significant segment of voters and that will guarantee defeat by the Democrats in November.

The coming election for President of the United States is serious business. It is so important to win this particular election that it should, from now until November, take priority over most other considerations. Republicans and those allied with them, must select a candidate who can not only unify the Party but who can bring forth voters who have not previously participated in the election process and who may not have previously voted Republican.

Thus far in the Presidential nominating campaign one could reasonably conclude that the "Establishment" members of the Party, from the majority of County Central Committee members on up to the Party elites, have been more interested in perpetuating their power over grass roots folks than they have in seeing that Republicans will win in November. Actions associated with the selection of a candidate are similar to those that have lost Republicans the last two very critical Presidential elections. The country and its people have suffered greatly as a result of these mistakes.

The grass roots folks have strongly indicated, by their majority votes in Primaries and other events, that they do not like the way the political nominating "system" has worked and they want to change it. This surge of opinion has been met by invoking "rules," designed and created for the purpose of keeping an "outsider" who might, by chance, win a primary election, from ever winning a Presidential nomination. In other words, the nominating procedures have been "rigged" by quietly putting "rules" in place when nobody was looking that perpetuate "Establishment" control over the grass roots. Trump's candidacy has exposed this!
