Ostriches

As we have mentioned many times in past commentaries, the little North Korean dictator with the bad haircut has been allowed to develop his ICBM and nuclear weapons capability into a real threat. Newt Gingrich warned of this threat in 2012 and, finally, the facts are being recognized by the news media. This situation has come about due to a series of bad decisions that were initiated during the Clinton Administration and was pretty much ignored during the eight years under Bush Junior. Obama crippled the defense that might have countered the developing threat of an EMP weapon by drastically cutting the military and research budgets. He was bound and determined, and still is, to squander the nation's resources on political correctness, global warming and a mammoth expansion of government as a reward for his cronies and camp followers. Now we are 19 trillion dollars in debt and may not be able to pay for a competent national defense without raising taxes dramatically, cutting seniors' social security and destroying everyone's health care! The bottom line is that we are now facing a very serious problem because the little dictator of North Korea has reportedly developed the capability to place devastating nuclear weapons into orbit and detonate them over the United States.

An EMP attack would set back life as we know it today to at least the Middle Ages, possibly even the Stone Age. Folks need to understand that we basically have no answer to the threat! In the case of such an attack, our national electric grid would be disabled to the point where everything that requires electricity to function would be disabled for a long period of time.

Almost nothing has been done to protect the Grid. According to news reports, the necessary parts to repair it are made in China and may take years to manufacture. All electronics, communications, water supplies, food production and distribution, national defense, transportation, health care and many, many other necessities would be eliminated This distraction away from important issues is caused by an incompetent and corrupt government, populated by Democrat and pinhead Republican politicians who squander trillions of dollars pandering to wastrels and organizations that demand attention (and money) focus on wasteful and distracting social welfare issues and wasteful policies such as the global warming hoax. The nation's ordinary citizens are ignored and lied to while they are being looted to feed establishment politicians and their "foundations."

Now, in response to North Korea's announcement that their nuclear weapons can be launched within minutes, we are under serious threat of a truly crippling attack. Apparently Obama's response was to order a carrier task force to the Korean area. Ever since the Koreans began testing short-range ballistic missiles into ocean areas around Korea, we have been warning in our commentaries that they could be preparing to use nuclear missiles to wipe out any naval task force within striking distance. If Kim Jong Un suddenly decided to wipe out one of our elite carrier task forces, which he could do within minutes with one nuclear weapon, what would Obama do? Would he retreat and apologize or would he send Dennis Rodman to plead for mercy!

Now, in the upcoming Presidential election, voters may be asked to elect another Democrat, the wife of the guy who gave the North Koreans their nuclear weapons capability. This, in spite of the fact that we have been watching yet another Democrat President, Barrack Obama, provide the same sort of deadly nuclear weapons and ballistic missile capabilities to Iran, a nation led by terrorists and Muslim fanatics. These are the people who have sworn to wipe out Israel and the United States. We must be Ostriches with our heads in the sand.

Please note: The Missouri Patriot has, thus far, taken no position in support of any candidate in the ongoing Presidential Primary race. However, as a journalism enterprise, we reserve the right at any time to be both critical and supportive of a wide range of issues and of candidates running for pubic office.  Our goal is to publish a sampling of information, views and opinions that we feel are representative of arguments being offered by various campaigns. One of our objectives is to provide voters with a sampling of information and opinion that we feel is interesting and informative. A motivating factor in our activities is to focus on what we believe to be in the public interest. It goes without saying that our choice of what to publish depends on many factors such as quality of writing, clarity, appeal to our audience and various other factors. It cannot be, and is not meant to be, all things to all people or comprehensive in coverage. (We do not sell things or advertise!)  Obviously, we are independent conservative oriented. We publish Guest Editor's opinions because we feel their views are not only interesting and informative but deserve whatever additional distribution we can give them. That said, their views are their own and do not necessarily mirror ours.
