The Amen Chorus

As this is being written, the Political Establishment representing the American Uniparty and the Uniparty's media mouthpieces are going bananas over Donald Trump's latest heresy: Calling for a temporary halt on Muslim immigration until representatives in Washington figure out what's going on*.
It didn't take long for Republicrat and Demlican candidates from Chris Christie to Jeb Bush to Hillary Clinton to condemn Mr. Trump. The Uniparty sings with one voice. Mr. Trump is a bigot. Just imagine the hew and cry that would have erupted from these people had, during World War II, Presidents Roosevelt and Truman banned Nazis from entering the country. Or, Heaven Forbid, discouraged members of the Japanese Royal Navy from mooring their ships in the San Diego yacht basin.
Certainly not all Muslims are terrorists, but in the last two and a half months, 525 people have died at the hands of Muslim extremists associated with the Islamic Caliphate (1). The cool cat wonders what song the Uniparty would be singing if Christians had slaughtered that many people in the name of religion.
The latest carnage occurred in the United States where 14 people were murdered at a Christmas party in San Bernadino, California. Though one of the killers swore allegiance to ISIS, officials tell us with a straight face, they're still trying to determine whether her husband did, too, even though ISIS in an English language broadcast referred to them as "soldiers of the Caliphate".
What is not up for debate is the killers' religion.
Whether the Muslim mother/mother-in-law had any inkling that the pipe bombs lying around the kitchen or the bombs in the garage might be used for nefarious purposes is still under investigation. And it turns out, though hardly reported and certainly not emphasized is that the Hispanic friend who bought two of the assault rifles had converted to Islam three or four years ago. (2)
So, they ask, why would anybody who isn't a bigot advocate banning Muslims from entering the United States?
Mr. Trump, contrary to what is being reported, is not advocating deporting the Muslims already residing here or not allowing the Muslims serving in the military to return. That's just the Uniparty media taking advantage of those who still believe they report the truth doing as much damage to Mr. Trump as possible. He simply is suggesting a moratorium on allowing adherents of this religion to immigrate until the authorities can sort out whether or not they mean to do us harm.

*To be frank, if the ban is in place until Washington figures out what's going on, it amounts to a permanent ban. Washington hasn't known what's going on outside the Beltway since the helicopter lifted off with Ronald and Nancy Reagan inside (1989).
