The Definition of Insanity
By Growltiger*
"When I am the weaker, I ask you for my freedom, because that is your principle; but when I am the stronger, I take away your freedom, because that is my principle." Louis Veuillot
Growltiger is aghast at what happened in Paris last night. That savages like these can be loosed on the world is to conjure up images from the darkest ages of ignorance and barbarism.
According to the New York Times, the attacks in Paris were carried out by three teams of coordinated attackers including one member who traveled to Europe on a Syrian passport as one of the wave of recent migrants (1). Note that these Islamic warriors did not attack a police station, a French military base or naval ship, but rather unarmed civilians in bars, concerts and sports events. That in itself should divulge who and what they are.
Of course, enlightened academics, politicians and the editorial board of the New York Times will all, no doubt, remind us that we mustn't overreact, that all Muslims aren't terrorists, and besides, didn't the Crusades happen a mere millennium ago? For those educated in the public indoctrination systems, the Holy Land into which the Crusaders marched had itself been invaded by Muslims six centuries after the death of the Christian Messiah and twenty six hundred years after the Jews settled Judea and Israel. So much for the claims of the perpetually aggrieved Palestinians.
The academics and politicians are right. Not all Muslims are terrorists. But in the 21st century, all terrorists are Muslims. From New York to Madrid to London to Egypt to Paris, Muslim extremists have entered western nations and slaughtered civilians as they go about their daily lives. When the citizens of these nations rise up to object, they are accused of being Islamophobes or racists or crusaders; told they are the problem, that they need to be more understanding of a religion and culture that forbids women the basic freedoms even women living in the Stone Age were accorded, beheads unbelievers and has as one of its basic tenets the reward of 70+ virgins when a man arrives in Paradise which, incidentally, he reaches by blowing up Jewish school children. Meanwhile, Angela Merkel has opened Germany's borders to thousands of Muslim immigrants and America's president, Obama, is moving to increase and accelerate the number of Syrian refugees who might be admitted to the United States (2). How many innocents have to be slaughtered by Islamic terrorists before western leaders do the one thing they were elected to do? Secure their nations' borders and protect the citizens who live within those borders.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. By that definition, the leaders of the western nations are certifiable.
