Finally! The great white whale the GOP establishment Ahabs have been chasing since dirt was discovered has surfaced. Thar she blows! We have bipartisanship!

It's been a long time coming, but at long and lengthy last there is political consensus. Democrats and Republicans, Fox's foxes and MSNBC's spitters, the editorial pages of the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, all finally agree. ISIS couldn't do it; Putin couldn't do it; a sinking economy couldn't do it. Not even 9-11 could do it. But now, from Charles Krauthammer to Charles Lane, from George Will to George Stephanopoulos, from Arthur Brooks to David Brock, they speak with one voice: Donald Trump has got to go! Order must be restored! Amity and Amnesty have to be resuscitated. The status has got to be quoed.   

Fear of the Donald slithers through the body politic like the Ebola virus through the GI tract. How can a bigmouth billionaire with bad hair be leading in the Republican polls? There can be but one explanation: These "uninformed" (Fox News Sunday), emotional (Special Report),"indignant, enraptured people who have lost their judgement" (Peggy Noonan, Wall Street Journal) don't realize their function is not to choose the candidate but rather to rubber stamp the candidate the establishment has already selected*.
