Why politicians love Red Light Cameras

Red Light Cameras are just the beginning of spying by politicians at all levels of authority. Soon we will see drones checking on individual public activities, private property and just about anything that elected or appointed officials can think up to control political choices, sell something or that they believe might enhance their revenue stream and get them re-elected.  

To be sure, there are constructive uses for these new technologies but citizens need to put their foot down where politicians get out of control and ignore public opinion! Red Light Cameras are obviously one of those areas and in St. Charles County the public has spoken through the ballot box.  

We are certain that most people are not fooled by the self serving statements of greedy politicians and why these politicians even go so far as to use taxpayer money to file lawsuits (St. Peters, Lake St. Louis and others) to try to overturn the public's clear opposition to spying with Red Light Camera devices.
