1988 -- Former vice president George H. W.
Bush ran for the presidency and won.
1992 -- President
Bush ran for reelection but was defeated by William J.
Clinton.
1996 -- President
Clinton defeated Senator Bob Dole
2000 -- Governor George W.
Bush won the presidency.
2004 -- Governor George W.
Bush won reelection.
2008 -- Former first lady, Hillary Clinton, is defeated in the Democratic primaries by Senator Barack Obama. Senator Obama won the presidency by defeating Senator John McCain.
2012 -- President Barack Obama was reelected.
2015 -- Former First Lady, Senator and Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, has declared herself a candidate for the Democratic nomination for the Presidency of the United States. Jeb Bush, son of President George H. W. Bush, brother of President George W. Bush is seeking the nomination for the presidency.
If Bush and Clinton are nominated, this is the case: In the past thirty five years in only one (1) election cycle out of 10, 4 years out of 36 will there not be a Bush and/or a Clinton on the presidential ticket.
