On March 29, 2015, ABC's "This Week" host, George Stephanopoulos, took a bite out of Republican Governor Mike Pence when the latter appeared on Stephanopoulous's Sunday news show cum Democratic campaign office (1).
The Indiana legislature had passed a religious freedom bill which Democrats demagogued into anti-gay, anti-lesbian legislation. Pence stumbled badly. Not his first mistake, however. That would be he (or any other Republican for that matter) going on Democratic operative, Stephanopoulos's, show in the first place. Even more perplexing is how otherwise sentient Americans never seem to catch on that the majority media are in the bag for the DNC. And that includes Rupert Murdoch's
Wall Street Journal which on the front page of the May 16-17 edition had the following: "As Bush Eyes White House, Family Cash Machine Gears Up." The story finishes up on Page A-4 with a nice graphic of "family ties". (As a subscriber to the Journal, Growltiger is aware of the "news" division's slant and information that is antipathetic to Democrats usually only can be found on the editorial pages.) No mention in the weekend edition of the Chelsea, Bill and Hillary Clinton Foundation's "family cash machine", of course.
Journalist Stephanopoulos did another favor for his former comrades when he delivered a hit on author Peter Schweizer with his tough interview on the author's book "Clinton Cash". While one wonders at Schweizer's judgement in serving himself up to Mr. Stephanopoulos in the first place, it's possible he had no choice; that contractual obligations with his publisher required he appear on as many shows as possible to hawk the book and boost sales. At the time of the interview in which Mr. Stephanopoulos accused Mr. Schweizer of having no evidence of quid pro quo (which is exactly what the Clinton campaign's claims), Boy George failed to divulge that he had donated $50,000...no, make that $75,000.00...to the Clinton Foundation and participated in Clinton Global Initiative events both as a panelist and a speaker (2).
Mr. Schweizer's publisher has since corrected seven or eight "factual errors" in the book (3) which the Growler suspects Politico was only too happy to report, the implication being, of course, that the rest of the book is hooey, too, and you shouldn't believe a word of it.
Once he was outed, Boy George issued the standard Democrat Journalist mea culpa (4). For those who don't speak Latin, let the cool cat translate: "We can all forget about this itsy, bitsy, teeny, weeny, wee, tiny, minuscule, micro mistake and get on with believing me when I tell you Fox News is biased, Republicans are evil dirty rats and Democrats sing in the choir of the angels. If you don't believe me, read the New York Times or watch NBC Nightly News..."
