Tweedledee and Tweedledum
By Growltiger*

Hillary Clinton being the Democrats' presumptive nominee in 2016 has her opponents complaining that nominating her would be a "coronation". Growltiger doesn't agree. Rather than a coronation, Ms. Clinton's nomination would be a replay of "Evita".

"Don't cry for me, North America,
"The truth is I never left you...."

However, the Republicans nominating former Governor (Florida), Jeb Bush, son of former president, George H. W. Bush (1989-1993), brother of former president George W. Bush (2001-2009)would be a coronation.

Governor Bush is a moderate which means the media will not pay much attention to him unless he gets the nomination. Right now, they're busy savaging the more conservative and/or libertarian Republican candidates --Chris Christie (he set out traffic cones), Mike Huckabee (a snake oil salesman), Scott Walker (he didn't finish college), Rand Paul (doesn't believe in vaccinations) and Ted Cruz (he'll shut down the government)--to focus on (mission accomplished) W's younger brother. That'll come later as John McCain and Mitt Romney quickly learned.

Former senator Clinton is left-of-center, but her progressive credentials are questionable in that she's smart enough to have figured out that if Wall Street disappears, so do most of Middle America's jobs (not to mention pensions and IRA's).

So if the 2016 presidential election comes down to Evita verses Prince Jeb, what can can we expect?

It is likely both Ms. Clinton and Mr. Bush will try to undo the damage President Obama's foreign policy (or lack thereof) has done. But it is difficult to see just how much toothpaste either of them can squeeze back into the tube. Both might be able to salvage a relationship with Israel, but it's unlikely either can convince Putin to give back Crimea or leave Ukraine. There's not much doubt that Iran will get a nuke; the only questions are when and how many.

Domestically, there doesn't appear to be much difference between them either. There are 11 million people living in the country illegally. Tweedledee Clinton will grant them amnesty. So will Tweedledum.
A large number of Americans disapprove of Common Core. Tweedledee hasn't addressed the issue to any degree, but in all likelihood, is supportive. Tweededum already has said he supports common core.
Being a Democrat, Tweedledee most likely will raise taxes. Tweedledum won't take that option off the table. Tweedledee hasn't got much use for the vast right-wing conspiracy. Tweedledum says the Republicans had better be careful they don't field a candidate who can "win the primary but lose the election". In other words, don't send a conservative against Ms. Clinton.

There are differences between the Tweedletwins, of course. Tweedledee likes to shred papers and/or delete e-mails she doesn't want to fall into the wrong hands. If Tweedledum follows his father and brother, he'll invade Iraq.

Right now the Majority Media are tiptoeing through the tulips, dutifully reporting that Tweedledee is up to her old habits of getting rid of evidence, but not being too critical in that they might have to support her come election time. But they're also hedging their bets, going pretty easy on Tweedledum because when it comes to the core issues, they sure don't want a Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio or Rand Paul confusing the electorate.

Tweedledum and Tweedledee
Agreed to have a battle;
For tweedledum said Tweedledee
Had spoiled his nice new rattle.

Just then flew down a monstrous crow,
As black as a tar-barrel;
Which frightened both the heros so,
They quite forgot their quarrel.
