BLUNDERER IN CHIEF

Obama should listen to General Petraeus and others who advise us to STAY OUT of renewed conflict in Iraq and limit the military to protecting our citizens on the scene. We should not send troops into Iraq except for the sole purpose of defending or evacuating Americans. We should restrict the use of air power to the protection of Americans only! The best policy, at least now as a result of all of the amateur decision making, is to just let the Sunni-Shia civil war proceed to whatever conclusion it will ultimately reach. Maybe they will be at it for yet ANOTHER thousand years. If so, so be it!

In retrospect, Obama's serious mistakes have decimated the accomplishments of all those Americans who have made great sacrifices, some the ultimate sacrifice. By withdrawing EVERYTHING from Iraq, in concert with his overall misguided foreign policy, we are now suffering the consequences. The long string of serious foreign policy blunders made since he was elected Commander In Chief in 2008 has put us in the unenviable position of having no constructive choices. It is immoral to ask Americans to sacrifice all over again to attempt to bail out Obama's blunders.

To be clear, we are NOT in favor of the nation risking more American lives and treasure, creating more dead and maimed soldiers and engaging in more prisoner swaps because Obama's scheme to fulfill his political promise to close Gitmo has backfired! We believe that Obama and his political advisors in the White House deliberately set up conditions that would cause negotiation of a status of forces agreement to fail. The reason behind this "political engineering" was because he wanted the war to end in Iraq so it could provide him with an argument to close Gitmo! Once again we see his "trademark" where politics trumps the national interest! The unintended consequences (or are they really unintended?) are now coming into full bloom. He created a vacuum that was filled by those who would like to see America weakened around the world. That may, in fact, include Obama and his radical 60's political allies.

Obama, with his "vast military skills" honed to a fine point as a community organizer, has, over the past 6 years purged U.S. military leadership and, like many dictators, appears to have appointed "yes men" to top military positions. In addition to helping radical Democrats re-make the military into a social welfare organization and use it as a testing ground for left wing social experimentation, these appointees seem to go along with his military judgments without objection. It appears that Obama has decided to put troops on the ground as "advisors," but without an agreement that would protect them if they were forced to use lethal firepower to defend themselves. In that circumstance U.S. soldiers could be charged with murder and tried under UN or Iraqi laws. This, along with much else, is irresponsible and should not be considered under any circumstances.
