ICE REPORT
Currently the entire lake is frozen over and we are making great ice. On our last measurement we were seeing 8-9" out to Shaw's Reef. Our East Access is open to 4 wheelers, and our Main Access in front of Toucan's remains closed as we are flooding to ensure good solid ice for our access. With the cold temps forecasted we can plan on continuing some good ice growth.
At this point we are on track to start pulling private houses this weekend. Please watch our website, follow our emails or listen to this voice prompt for up-to-date ice conditions and pulling information.
REMINDER TO WINTER ICE HOUSE CUSTOMERS
When we start pulling houses it is on a first come, first serve basis. You must be present in order for your house to be pulled on the lake. Watch our ice reports at WharfMN.com, the Wharf facebook page or our phone system for the most up-to-date information.
DNR ICE GUIDELINES
For new, clear ice only:
2" or less - STAY OFF
4" - Ice fishing or other activities on foot
5" - Snowmobile or ATV
8" - 12" - Car or small pickup
12" - 15" - Medium truck
REMEMBER to always check with your local resort before venturing out on the ice. Ice conditions can change hourly and each resort knows the conditions in their area as conditions vary widely across our very large lake.
