PIN HIGH WITH THE PRESIDENT
Marilyn Morfitt
Honor and pleasure serving you in EWGA

Marilyn thanks the Board, committee volunteers and players who made the 2015 season so great -- and looks forward to next year with three requests. Click here to read her last President's Letter and keep her entreaties in mind. The Kickoff will be here before you know it!

EWGA CUP MATCH PLAY

Our 3 victorious
Match Play teams
Portland a powerhouse at Match Play regionals
Congrats to our Portland Match Play teams for achieving the insanely unheard of -- all three won spots in the EWGA Cup Finals, set for Nov. 13-14 in Florida. A couple other chapters fielded two or three teams, but Portland was the only chapter in seven qualifiers to place three teams in the Finals. For complete results, click here and look for the Pacific and Western regions. To read a Rookie's take on the experience, click here. And click here to read how even an experienced Match Play competitor was blown away. Watch our website and newsletter for results of the Finals. Good luck to all!

EWGA CHAMPIONSHIP
Keve Gabbert
Good luck to Keve at Finals later this month
Keve Gabbert will represent Portland in the EWGA Championship Finals Oct. 30-31 at the Westin Mission Hills Resort in Palm Springs, Calif. She won Low Gross in the 3rd Flight in the Semifinals at Pronghorn earlier this summer in Bend. Elizabeth LeMay (Championship) and Carlyne Lynch (First) won in their flights but declined to advance. Watch our website and November newsletter for results of the Finals.

2016 BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Marilyn Morfitt gets first-ever hole-in-one
EWGA-PDX Board aces year and looks to 2016
Out-going President Marilyn Morfitt shot a hole-in-one on the tricky, downhill No. 14 at the Edgefield Pub course Oct. 11 as the 2015 and 2016 directors played a team-building round before their transition meeting. The new Board officially takes over Nov. 1, so click here for an introduction.

CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP SURVEY
Take member survey -- and win!
We are listening -- tee off on likes, dislikes
The deadline to answer the Chapter Survey has been extended to Oct. 21, so you still have time to let us know what you think. The survey arrived in your email inboxes on Oct. 8. Take a few minutes to answer and you could be one of three members to win a free League round or a free ticket to our 2016 Kickoff.

WEEKEND EVENTS
Linda Erickson
Attendance and sun increase, fun follows
It was a successful year as NO Weekend Event had to be cancelled. An average of nearly 27 players filled the rosters at 14 local, away and private club plays this year. Linda thanks her volunteers as she steps down as Events director.
Jodenne Scott, Carol Fine, Karen Bolin and Lily Ravencraft at Colwood Year-End
Rain doesn't dampen Year-End fun, spirit
Friends, prizes and the promise of a great season to come capped our 2015 golf events with the Year-End Fun Finale. Of course, it didn't start raining until it was time to play and then it stopped when we gathered after the Colwood Par-3 round to share stories and scores. Everyone who stayed went home with something! Jodenne Scott, Nancy Tangeman and Susan Stillwell each won a dozen balls for KPs. Jen Piper and Mari Border took bragging rights, tying for low score with 29, two over par. Lane Mueller birdied No. 3. Cyndi Farrell won the drawing for a twosome at Hawks Prairie and Marilyn Morfitt won a foursome at Pumpkin Ridge. Can't wait for next year!
Willamette Valley Country Club No.16
WVCC puts best foot forward for EWGA
Event Captain Tami Latham heard so many players at the Willamette Valley Country Club event say they want to come back next year that she thinks she can arrange it. The weather was perfect, the course was showing its fall finest and they were excited to have us. Thanks to all who attended.
Ann Chapman
Ann Chapman attendance champ
Ann Chapman took full advantage of her EWGA membership to play in 19 Weekend Events, Leagues and Clinics, more than any other member this year. She also took time to organize our well-attended Chehalem Glenn-Archer Winery event, plus she qualified for the Finals with one of our Match Play teams. She's a winner all around in our books.

HANDICAPPING

Deb Dalenberg
Challenge ends with challenger winning
Deb Dalenberg surged up the rankings to win the 2015 Handicap Challenge by improving her already low handicap by 14.4 percent. Deb won $40, while Kay Williamson earned $25 for placing second and Marilyn Morfitt got $15 for third. Click here for all of the results.

OGA INTERCLUB PLAY

EWGA-PDX 2nd in
OGA Interclub Play
Match Play team takes OGA Consolation
Once again, our Chapter took honors in Match Play, this time closer to home with the Consolation at the annual OGA Interclub Championship. Playing in the finals at The Reserve were, from left, Elizabeth LeMay, Michelle Lennox, Suzy Off, Sue Brewer and Janet Orzechowski. Not pictured but playing in the Finals was Lindsay Braukman. Other members of the Portland team competing in the monthly OGA Match Play series were Sydney Hagen, Jean Poling and Deb Weissenbuehler. For more on the OGA Match Play event, click here.

Kay Williamson, an EWGA-PDX member and certified sports hypnotherapist, tells us how to have fun playing golf, even when shots don't go our way. Read her advice here and plan to change your attitude next season for more fun and better scores.
