Special Family Eucharist This Sunday With the Rev. Jane Gerdsen

This special service will be held in the air-conditioned Great Hall in an informal setting.  Children are welcome!
Reduced Kids Rate for Grace Church Fundraiser

The Wardens have announced a reduced rate of $15 per child under 15 if tickets are purchased by September 7 and $20 after that.  We are planning a movie and popcorn for the children if they prefer that to the music and dancing of the adults.

It's not too late to get reduced price tickets to Grace Church's "Pearl of Africa" fundraiser.  The deadline for reduced price tickets has been extended to September 7.

This is fund-raiser will support Grace Church's many ministries.  It is called "The Pearl of Africa--A Celebration of Ugandan Culture."  It'll feature, among other things a great Ugandan dinner, music and a silent auction featuring great items from local businesses as well as baskets made up by church members.

The affair starts on Saturday, September 19 at 6pm.  Order your tickets by calling the office at 513-541-2415 or emailing office@gracecollegehill.org.  Tickets cost $35/person or $60/couple before September 7 and $40/person thereafter.  Some folks are buying a table of 8 or 10 and inviting their friends.

Pearl of Africa Fund-Raiser Seeks Auction Items

Carol Lyon is  looking for people to donate auction items for the silent auction.  It could be an item or a service.  For example, some people are donating baskets of wine, champagne, jewelry, a Cincinnati Reds basket or art work.  Others are offering to be a chef for an evening for you or someone you know or to hold a brunch for you and your guests at their house.

There are lots of ideas on the internet.  Just to name a few more possibilities: baskets for kids, or tools or tickets to events or chocolate.  Other ideas that are popular include:  vacation rentals, dog lovers basket, tutoring, spa services, etc.  I am sure you get the idea and I am sure you have something unique you could offer.

Please e-mail Carol at  Spikelyon@gmail.com or call her at 513-919-0542 and let her know what you are willing to donate.
The Next Two Wednesday Healing Services Will Feature Special Content

Dear Friends,

I can't wait to tell you about our next two drumming and healing events!

On September 9, Kimberly Spivley will be leading us in a group spiritual experience.  I have attended a number of groups where she has lead the group prayer/Om Circle and it has been fantastic. She will be leading us during our opening segment.

On October 14, Bob Laake will be sharing his insights on drumming and healing.  The vibrations of the drums are powerful healing tools.

Eeveryone is welcome to come to these events whenever it fits your schedule and stay as long as you desire. However, for these two events, I would recommend trying to be there by 7 pm when we start, so you can experience Kimberly and Bob! I am excited to have each of them sharing with us!

Remember there is also a free community dinner in the Great Hall that starts at 5pm every Wednesday evening.

So come and join us and open your heart to give and receive love. You are an important part of our community and I enjoy seeing each one of you at the Celebrations of Wholeness and Healing!!!!!!!!

Much love and light - Hawley Todd

The online Grace Church Calendar  lists most everything we know about that's happening at Grace Church. If something's not listed, or if you see errors, please tell the office (office@gracecollegehill.org, 513-541-2415).

Thanks to ...

... J White for her continual efforts to oversee the use of our facilities for all of our various events and groups.  There are many times when she doesn't get home until well after midnight.  We've semi-jokingly said that we need to get her a bed so she can just live at the church.

If you want to thank anyone in the congregation for something they did for you or for the church, please send that thank you to Ken Lyon (eGraceNotes@gracecollegehill.org) or the office (office@gracecollegehill.org), so they can be recognized.
Selected Short Subjects

After a hiatus during the summer, Prayer and Meditation begins again tomorrow (Friday) at 11am. While we normally meet in the parlor, I suggest we meet in the inner office since it is air conditioned. Our topic will be "Prayer in the Midst of Life." Some of us may find it may need to see more of a connection of the ordinary with God's messages. Please join me tomorrow at 11 am.
From Carol Lyon.
