East Atlanta Santa is Back!
|
Santa and his elves have booked their flights to East Atlanta, where they are ready to pose for "elfies" with children of all ages and pets of all sorts on Saturday and Sunday, December 6-7.
Santa takes reservations in 10-minute increments from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on both days. Send an email to EAVSanta@gmail.com with your preferred time. Reservations fill up quickly, but Santa always has time for walk-in sessions around appointments. Check in outside Joe's East Atlanta Coffee Shop at 510 Flat Shoals Ave SE.
For $20 you'll get a set of photos on a souvenir flash drive thanks to 13 Roses Tattoo Parlour, Joe's East Atlanta Coffee and Marc Takacs of Keller Williams Realty. One hundred percent of the money goes to East Atlanta Kids Club and Neighbor In Need.
We have a diverse collection of Santas, with one for each of the four shifts. The schedule is subject to change, but as of now: George Tucker, Saturday morning; Scott Lootens, Saturday afternoon; John Venneman, Sunday morning; and Marc Takacs, Sunday afternoon.
In addition to photos, the tree decorating contest on Flat Shoals will return, there will be a book and bake sale at the library and, of course, the Village tree lighting at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6. The Red, White and Green Parade will follow Wasted Potential from the library to the Village tree at 5:00 p.m.
Please email EAVSanta@gmail.com for more information.

Thousands of books will be for sale in the library meeting room for only $1 for paperbacks and $2 for hardbacks. Friday Food for Firefighters
|

It's always a great time to deliver a meal to our local
firefighters, and it has been a little while since they have had a visit!
Providing a meal means having a cooked meal to hand over to the firefighters at Station 13 on Friday evening. The firefighters request food without pork. A full kitchen is available to them at the fire station and they can heat something as needed. Meals should be delivered between 5:00 - 5:30 p.m.
Sign up here (password is "friday") to see what dates are available for meals. You might think about sharing different parts of a meal with friends--one or two people might provide the main meal, another could provide bread or a side dish or dessert.
Please call Beth-Ann Buitekant at 404-455-8746 for information or with questions.

East Atlanta Security Patrol - Holiday Offer
|

December begins our new member promotion, as new members receive the month of December for free! In addition to providing extra patrols for your home should you be traveling over the holidays, your new membership will enable us to have extra patrols in the community during the holiday season. To join, visit our membership page.
The East Atlanta Security Patrol (EASP) is an effort to enhance public safety in East Atlanta. The EASP employs off-duty Zone Six police officers to perform additional patrols within Beat 612, which is the police designation for the East Atlanta community. The amount of time that the officers patrol is determined by the level of financial support from the community. More memberships and donations mean more patrol hours, so we encourage you to tell your neighbors and East Atlanta businesses about the EASP.
The EASP also functions as an advocate for the community. Please contact us with crime and public safety concerns in our neighborhood.
Both residents and businesses must be located within the city of Atlanta to become a member. Anyone may donate to the EASP.
In addition to proactive patrols in our community, the EASP works closely with the Atlanta Police Department and other security patrols to share information about crime threats or new patterns of crime. When appropriate, we share this information with the community via our website, Facebook and Twitter.
If you have additional questions, please email easp610@gmail.com,
