EAV Beautification Day on Nov. 15

There is one more EACA-sponsored opportunity this year to contribute to the beauty of the Village! Please join us Saturday, November 15, as we prepare for the East Atlanta Santa.

Details:
  • Meet at 10:00 a.m. at the intersection of Flat Shoals Ave. and Glenwood Ave.
  • Rain day is the following day (announcement will be made).
  • Please bring gear to protect yourself (gloves, hat, eyewear, sunblock, etc.).
  • Pruning may also be necessary, so if you have pruning tools that would be helpful too.
Please contact beautification@eaca.net if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you then!
Vendors Needed for Next EAV Craft Market

The next EAV Craft Market hosted by The Midway Pub is scheduled for Saturday, November 15, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Set-up is at noon.)

Want to be a vendor? If so, just:
  1. Visit www.eavcraftmarket.com to download an application and pay the $40 entry fee via the Paypal button.
  2. Email the completed registration form to eavcraftmarket@gmail.com. Please include your name or company name in the title of the email.
  3. Attach three pictures of your craft and/or booth set-up to the email so we can help promote your work leading up to the show.
  4. Once we have reviewed the application and received your fee, we will email you the event details.
  5. The registration and payment deadline is Friday, November 7, and you are not registered for the event until the $40 entry fee has been paid.
The entry fee will get you an assigned spot in the market AND a meal from The Midway Pub. The entry fee is nonrefundable so please be 100 percent sure you can attend before paying. We are no longer taking cash payments the day of the event, just online payments through the website.

All proceeds of the show will benefit Neighbor in Need East Atlanta, which provides emergency home repairs for often elderly East Atlanta neighbors who can't make the repairs themselves. So this show is a great way to make money, have fun, and help your neighbors in need!

Help us spread the word! Click here for the Facebook invite. You can also like our Facebook page at
Thanksgiving Dance & Acting Camp

Keep the kids active and learning during the holiday break! Kids Dance 411's award-winning programs are a great way to boost your child's knowledge of arts and culture. Parents will enjoy an end-of-camp show on the last day too, so bring the camera!

Proudly presented by the Dance 411 Foundation.

Friday Food for Firefighters

It's always a great time to deliver a meal to our local

firefighters, and it has been a little while since they have had a visit!

Providing a meal means having a cooked meal to hand over to the firefighters at Station 13 on Friday evening. The firefighters request food without pork. A full kitchen is available to them at the fire station and they can heat something as needed. Meals should be delivered between 5:00 - 5:30 p.m.

Sign up here (password is "friday") to see what dates are available for meals. You might think about sharing different parts of a meal with friends--one or two people might provide the main meal, another could provide bread or a side dish or dessert.

Please call Beth-Ann Buitekant at 404-455-8746 for information or with questions.

East Atlanta Security Patrol

The East Atlanta Security Patrol (EASP) is an effort to enhance public safety in East Atlanta. The EASP employs off-duty Zone Six police officers to perform additional patrols within Beat 612, which is the police designation for the East Atlanta community. The  amount of time that the officers patrol is determined by the level of financial support from the community.  More memberships and donations mean more patrol hours, so we encourage you to tell your neighbors and East Atlanta businesses about the EASP.

The EASP also functions as an advocate for the community. Please contact us with crime and public safety concerns in our neighborhood.

Both residents and businesses must be located within the city of Atlanta to become a member. Anyone may donate to the EASP.

In addition to proactive patrols in our community, the EASP works closely with the Atlanta Police Department and other security patrols to share information about crime threats or new patterns of crime. When appropriate, we share this information with the community via our website, Facebook and Twitter.

If you have additional questions, please email easp610@gmail.com, call 404-954-1568, or visit easecuritypatrol.com. To join, visit the membership page.
