East Atlanta Security Patrol's New Website |

EASP's new website complete with news, crime reports, membership information, etc. can be found here!
The East Atlanta Security Patrol ("EASP") is an effort to enhance safety in East Atlanta. Specifically, off-duty Zone Six Police Officers will be hired to perform additional patrols within Beat 612, which is the police designation for the East Atlanta community, beyond those presently being performed by the police. The amount of time that the officers shall patrol will be determined by the level of support from the community in terms of membership. Since more members mean more patrol hours, we encourage you to share this information with your neighbors and East Atlanta business owners. Both residents and businesses must be within the City of Atlanta to become a member. Donations to the EASP may be made by anyone.
In addition to the general benefit of having additional police patrols at the time they are most needed, members shall receive the following services as part of their membership:
- Immediate Access to Security Patrol Service
- Call, text or e-mail anytime with immediate or ongoing public safety concerns
- Enhanced Police Patrol Services
- Officers will check member locations as often as practicable
- Out of Town Check for Residential Members
- Officers will visit the member household and if possible perform an inspection on foot
- Indicia of Membership
- All members will receive an EASP yard sign
To learn more about the East Atlanta Security Patrol, view updated news and notes or to enroll, visit the EASP website. There is a 50% discount for longtime residents and those 65+. To qualify, you must have lived at the same address for 20 years or be over age 65. We also have a 20% discount for members of an APD-sanctioned Neighborhood Watch. Please contact us if you're interested in setting up a Neighborhood Watch on your street.

How You Can Help Your Local Schools |
How You Can Help Your Local Schools
With the holiday season coming upon, some like to give. A great online resource that gives you the ability to do that either by name or anonymously is Donors Choose. This website allows teachers to go online and make wishlists that people can then contribute. Often corporate donors will match regular donors for half of the donations.
For the APS schools that service East Atlanta please view the links below. Links for Donor Choose are done by zip code, but they will include schools such as Burgess-Peterson Academy, Drew, Wesley, Coan Middle School and Maynard Jackson High School.
Take APS Surveys
2014-2017 Calendar Survey: Three years of proposed APS calendars have been released for community input. Your opinion matters as the district plans calendars for the next three school years.
APS Calendar Survey
APS Perception Survey: In an effort to continuously improve our services, we conduct quarterly surveys to gauge your perception and satisfaction about how we at APS conduct our business. Your input, responses and comments will remain confidential.
APS Perception Survey
Georgia Parent Survey: APS parents are encouraged to participate in Georgia Parent Survey administered by the Georgia Department of Education . Data from the Georgia Parent Survey will be used along with the Georgia Student Health Survey and the Georgia School Personnel Survey to calculate the School Climate Star Rating within the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI). The Georgia Parent Survey will be open through Friday, January 31, 2014. Data results from the Georgia Parent Survey will not be available to the public and will not be posted online.
