Dikembe Mutombo visits EAKC |
On Tuesday, October 23rd, at 5:00pm, philanthropist, humanitarian, 18-year NBA veteran, and creator of the foundation that bears his name, Dikembe Mutombo will visit the East Atlanta Kids Club (EAKC). All youth in the community are invited to attend.
During his visit, Mutumbo is expected to deliver a special message to East Atlanta's children and to address questions . And just MAYBE, if the kids ask politely, he may even remind them why "Man does not fly in the house of Mutombo."
Founded in 1997, the Dikembe Mutombo Foundation was chartered to improve the health, education and quality of life for the people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Beyond the many accolades and honors accumulated in the United States, Mutombo has established a state-of-the-art medical facility -- the Biamba Marie Mutombo Hospital and Research Center -- in Kinshasa, capital city of his homeland, the Democratic Republic of Congo, where ready access to modern medical care is urgently needed.
Mutombo's visit will take place at the Brownwood Recreation Center, 602 Brownwood Avenue, in East Atlanta.
