The Forward Food Summit is back!

The Forward Food Summit is an annual conference held to address, analyze, and inspire work to cultivate and honor solutions on food security and access. The Second Annual Forward Food Summit sets the stage for conversations at the intersection of race and food insecurity. Bringing together a community of our neighbors, leaders, students, activists, academics, and professionals, we will enhance our individual and collective ability for effective and inclusive work.

The Summit will include workshops, speakers, and break-outs to learn about our diverse network engaging with food security and access. Attendees will gain a new, holistic perspective on these issues and solutions, sharing experience and strategies to create positive change in our own communities.

Registration for the Summit is $15 for students and $40 for the general public. Please contact Boulder Food Rescue at forwardfood@boulderfoodrescue.org to inquire about Summit scholarships for the registration fee. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Patagonia Mobile Worn Wear Tour: If It's Broke, Fix it!

April 22

Extending the life of our garments is the single most important thing we can do to lower our impact on the planet. In keeping our clothes in use longer, we reduce overall consumption.

Patagonia's Worn Wear program was created in 2013 as a way to encourage people to take good care of their gear, washing and repairing as needed. The program aims to keep clothing, regardless of brand, in circulation for as long as possible. When it's time for a replacement, we want you to invest in something that lasts.

What is a "Worn Wear event" going to look like?

- Repair truck - Techs repair gear all day - first come, first served.

- DIY Repair Station - this is where folks repair their own stuff or broken product we provide. (table w/materials, tools, manuals, old gear for making repairs.) You fix it, you own it.

- A Mobile Retail Store - to buy used Patagonia gear. (All sales made via Square - no cash)

"There is nothing we can change about how we make clothing that would have more positive environmental impact than simply making less," notes Patagonia CEO Rose Marcario. "Worn Wear is a celebration of quality products and their relationship to our lives. It's a simple but critical message: keep your gear in action longer and take some pressure off our planet."
