Labor Day Schedule
We will be offering our regular schedule of classes throughout the Labor Day weekend, the only classes that are canceled are the 5 am and the 8:30 pm on Monday, Sept. 5.
As we wrap up our fundraiser, "Mats for Inmates," we at Being Yoga send our sincere heartfelt thanks to everybody who donated to the cause. We have witnessed an outpouring of compassion that exceeded our expectations: In only one month, we have raised enough money to buy all the new mats and zafu pillows needed to replace the old ones at the San Francisco County Jail!
We will update you regarding the total amount of money contributed, and the final number of mats and pillows purchased, after the fundraiser has been completely wrapped up.
In the meantime, know that your contributions are deeply appreciated by all of us at Being Yoga, and that each mat and pillow purchased with your donations will be valued more than you can imagine by the men who will be practicing on them.

Tell us about your yoga journey.
4 years ago, I was looking for a fun, safe way to shed brain surgery recovery weight (7 months of bed rest). I discovered hot vinyasa yoga in San Diego. When I moved to the Bay Area 2 years ago, I found a Groupon to Being Yoga. I had no idea what Bikram Yoga was and wondered why we kept doing the exact same series. I kept on practicing though because of the amazing feeling after each class, and here I am now doing 30-day yoga challenges and practicing Bikram very regularly. Yoga has given me so much that I enjoy giving back to the yoga community~ this is why I work at Being!

What are the physical things you get from yoga?
Practicing Yin has increased my flexibility remarkably and practicing Bikram has helped my balance and concentration. Personally, the mental benefits outweigh the physical benefits. Yoga is such a releasing practice for me~ there are times when I cannot control the stream of tears during Yin Yoga. It's like a rebirth, revival.
How has yoga impacted your life?
Yoga has changed my life in immeasurable ways. Everyday, I carry what I learn on my mat off the mat. Life lessons like patience, focus and self-love. I also have a deeper awareness and understanding of others and myself.
What advice do you have for the new students?  
Explore all styles of yoga to figure out which best suits your wants and needs. Keep on yoga'ing~ it's the best thing you can do for your mind and body.

Willing to work 4 hours a week for a minimum of 6 months?
Then Being Yoga has work in exchange for an unlimited yoga membership:
  • Cleaning:  Sat 6 - 7 pm
  • Front Desk: Tues 4 - 5:30 pm
  • Front Desk: Wed 4 - 5:30 pm
  • Front Desk: Thurs 4 - 7 pm
  • Front Desk: Sun 11:30 am - 1 pm
  • Front Desk: Sun 4 - 7 pm
  • Outside Marketing: 4 hours per week

Membership Policies
Membership expiration dates are your responsibility - choose membership wisely, taking into consideration vacation, surgery etc.  
Policy is that no extensions or refunds are allowed.  If the event of surgery or injury will prevent you from practicing for more than 1 month, send written request  including doctor's note for a one time extension. Request must be provided with advance notice. 
As a one time courtesy to get you back on your mat - for class card membership that has expired: Reactivation of expired classes for 1 week for every 2 classes, provided a new membership is purchased.
