Where did fall go? We have had some pretty chilly days out here at the ranch and have been preparing for winter to arrive any day now! With Session 5 starting and the holidays approaching we are all so busy and are loving every minute of it! 

Keep reading for some reminders as well as new events that may be coming up!

Veterans Day Movie Event
The Film: Riding My Way Back

Hearts & Horses is proud and excited to share an amazing movie with our community in honor of Veterans Day:

The short documentary Riding My Way Back chronicles one soldier's journey back from the brink of suicide.  Through caring for a horse, the soldier begins the difficult process of reconnecting to the world around him and healing the terrible, invisible wounds of war that had nearly defeated him.  This is not only one soldier's story, but the story of thousands and thousands of our service men and women.  The film recently premiered at the GI Film Festival in Washington, DC, where it received the Founders' Choice Award.

This event will take place on November 10th at The Rialto Theater on 4th Street in Loveland from 6-8 PM. The event will include a social hour with appetizers and drinks, the viewing of the film and a panel discussion with veterans, families and therapists. 

Please join us for this very special event to 
recognize and honor our veterans.

Loveland Veterans Day Parade
Tuesday, November 11th at 11:11 AM 


Hearts & Horses is honored to again be taking part in the Loveland Veterans Day parade on Tuesday, November 11th in Downtown Loveland.

We will have several of our veterans riding in the parade, and would love to encourage all who wish to walk alongside the Hearts & Horses contingent!

Call Amy in the office at 970-663-4200 if you want to join us and she can let you know where we will be staging for the parade and what time to meet.

2015 H&H Calendars
for Sale

2015 Hearts & Horses Calendars are HERE! Calendars can be purchased at Hearts & Horses for $12 each or 10 calendars for $100. Many thanks to Roger and Anne Bates for underwriting the cost of these calendars so that 100% of the proceeds go to support the riders who we serve!  
We are happy to mail them out as long as we can cover the shipping charges. For more information, please call Amy.
Zeus is Retiring 

Today is the day that most horses dream of! Zeus is retiring up to the mountains to be a wonderful companion and trail horse! He will be living the life of luxury! We are so thankful to have had Zeus in the program and so are the many riders who have mastered posting through his HUGE trot, as well as growing their confidence with his gentle and loving personality! 
24 Days of HAPPY 

In preparation of Colorado Gives day 2014 we are collecting "Moments of Happy" from staff, riders and volunteers! What makes you happy about Hearts & Horses? It can be anything! A horse, a rider, a moment or a memory! Please share it with us HERE! These moments will be shared to help promote Colorado Gives Day 2014 on December 9th!

Upgraded Kroh Arena and New Addition
Construction to start soon!

Keep an eye out! Construction at Hearts & Horses will be starting any week now! Check out the beautiful architectural rendering below to see what our new facility will look like! 

The process will start with a leveling of the land just west of the red portable (and our current offices). A new arena will be placed there and the current outdoor arena will be taken down. 

Our upgraded facility will include a building added to the south of the existing Kroh Arena which will be the entry for all operations - volunteers, riders, staff will all be under one roof!

Lots of changes are on the way, so be sure to stay tuned for changes of travel patterns and horse trails!

Colorado Gives Day: December 9th


While donations and support are needed and welcomed year round, a special giving opportunity is right around the corner. Colorado Gives Day is December 9th. Last year Colorado Gives was a huge success for Hearts & Horses through the amazing contributions of friends, families, volunteers and strangers alike! We have some neat things planned to raise awareness and need all the help we can get to spread the word this year about Colorado Gives Day! 

Here are ways to help:
           Share on any social media platform (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc...)
           Share with Friends and Family
           Talk about it and educate others about what we do

For the fifth year, Community First Foundation and FirstBank are partnering to present Colorado Gives Day on Tuesday, December 9, 2014. Colorado Gives Day is an annual statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving. And for the first time ever, it features a $1 Million Incentive Fund created by the partners, one of the largest gives-day incentive funds in the country. This incentive fund increases the value of every dollar donated!

When: 24 hours starting at 12 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2014
