NEWSLETTER SUBTITLE

Welcome to Fall! The cool weather is blowing in (we think), the trees are turning and we are starting to think about the next session already!

It seems that every month brings new people, events and riders! Check out this issue of Heartbeats for some important information, some recent events and things happening in the near future!

Kroh Renovation Groundbreaking

Bob Dehn, Front Range Fire Protection and Project Manager; Debbie Dehn, Board Member and Chair of the Facilities Committee; Tamara Merritt, Director of Special Programs; Bob Huff, Board President; Jan Pollema, Executive Director; Lynn Hammond, Trustee of Thomas McKee and George Kroh Charitable Trusts; Ken Coulson, Coulson Excavating; Kathy Coulson, Treasurer of the Board.

On September 29th we held the Kroh Ground Breaking Ceremony! Staff, Board Members and loyal supporters were there to signify the beginning of many changes that will be happening at Hearts & Horses over the next year!

Thanks to the outpouring of community support from Northern Colorado Businesses and Foundations the vision for creating a state of the art therapeutic riding facility will become a reality in 2015-2016.  In the last three years, we have seen a 111% increase in the riders we serve along with a 60% increase in the number of volunteers.  Our goal is to raise the bar on our facility to keep pace with the high quality programs offered at Hearts & Horses.  Creating a safe, inviting and professional welcome center, offices, new arenas and entry for our participants, volunteers and staff will ensure we are able to produce the highest quality service for individuals with disabilities in Northern Colorado for years to come.

This is a very exciting time at Hearts & Horses as we work to improvements on the Kroh arena so keep an eye out for updates as well as construction that may be happening around the property in the coming months!

The Varsity's Homecoming

Thank you everyone for your continued support through the Varsity's arrival in Colorado and your understanding in giving him a little time to settle in. We are excited to announce that we will have The Vasity's Homecoming Party on Tuesday, October 21st from 4-6 PM at Hearts & Horses. Join us for a "viewing party" and get a chance to find out more about our newest gorgeous Gypsy guy!

Please remember that The Varsity is still a young horse. Only Staff will be allowed to clean his stall and handle him as Varsity's comfort and everyone's safety are top priorities at Hearts & Horses.
