NEWSLETTER SUBTITLE

As we get ready for the Fall, we have quite a few changes as well as updates to tell you about! The past couple weeks have been a much needed rest for our amazing equines as well as staff and volunteers.

We are so excited to get started with our Fall session and welcome everyone back as well as some new riders and volunteers! Check out what's going on out at the ranch below!

Calling ALL Volunteers

Session 4 Block Schedule

As you may have heard we are currently adjusting our scheduling of classes towards a BLOCK Schedule. The theory behind this is to reduce the "touch-time" with our horses and streamline the process for volunteers, making it easier and more efficient for you!

A BLOCK consists of two classes back to back with a 15 minute break in between with the same horses and horse leaders (and ideally the same tack). After that Block is complete that horse is done for the day and is turned out to pasture for recess!

We are so sorry for the technical difficulties from last week - but everything is FIXED now!

If you would like to schedule yourself to volunteer in a block please call Katie at 970-663-4200 x 305 and she'll get you set up!

We are really excited about this new schedule and hope that you all are too!

Windjammer Road House Poker Run to Benefit Hearts & Horses!

THIS Sunday, August 24th - 11am

The Varsity: Another Month in the Southern Sun

Thank you so much to everyone who donated to fund The Varisty's trip home to Colorado for his Birthday. Because of your amazing support we raised enough money to fund his trip as well as handle some preliminary vet bills and keep him healthy through his transition at Hearts & Horses. Even though we are so excited for him to arrive we have decided to postpone his trip due to the current Vesicular Stomatitis outbreak here in Colorado. The Varsity will remain at his lovely home in Tennessee until he can begin his journey home, to a much awaited fanfare and celebration.

As you can see, Hannah is super sad that The Varsity is still on holiday, but we eagerly anticipate his arrival in the Fall so Hannah can hug him for real.

Shop at Whole Foods - 5% to Hearts & Horses!

Thursday, August 28th

Save up all your grocery shopping until NEXT Thursday, August 28th and have a shopping spree at Whole Foods. You'll get great food and donate to Hearts & Horses at the same time! On that day, Whole Foods will be donating 5% of their sales to Hearts & Horses.

Whole Foods Market in Fort Collins is having a Local Road Tour on Saturday, August 23rd from 11-2 PM in the front parking lot. Come on by for vendors, artisans and plenty of samples. Hearts & Horses will also have a booth set up, so swing on by and say hello!

Are you interested in Interactive Vaulting?

Have you ever wanted to do something unique and exciting? Hearts & Horses is currently looking for Vaulters for the winter session starting in November! Check out this video of Hannah and Stef working with one of our amazing mules, Allie on vaulting practice!

Trailer For Sale

Hearts & Horses has a trailer for sale! It is a 1991 Crescent "Eventer" bumper pull 2 horse trailer. It has only one prior owner with light use. Dimensions are 6' wide, 7' tall, 15-16' from hitch to end, 2'' ball hitch, and weighs 1950 lbs. We are asking $2,000.00, cash only.
