A Kentucky Derby Celebration to benefit Hearts & Horses
Tony's Bar and Rooftop in Old Town Fort Collins will be hosting their first annual Kentucky Derby Party Saturday, May 3rd from 2-6pm with Hearts and Horses as the charity recipient. Mark your calendar to come on out and join Hearts and Horses staff and supporters for a range of fun activities - including a hat contest! Watch our Facebook page for more info.

PATH Intl. Instructor Training Workshop in May
Hearts and Horses is hosting a PATH Intl. Registered Level Therapeutic Riding Instructor On Site Workshop and Certification this May! If you are interested in becoming a Therapeutic Riding Instructor, this is the best way to get started! Hearts and Horses is one of the few locations in Colorado that mentors Instructors in Training throughout the year. In order to mentor with us, you must have taken this workshop prior to doing your mentoring hours and if you attend our Instructor Workshop, you will receive priority in our mentoring program, which often has a long wait list.  PATH Registered Instructor Workshop: May 28-30. Cost: $450
For those Instructor Candidates who have received their IT letter and have completed their mentoring hours, we do have 2 spaces left in the Instructor Certification.
PATH Registered Instructor Certification: May 30-June 1. Cost: $350

Hearts & Horses Benefit Garage Sale - May 2-3
Doing some Spring Cleaning? Don't forget about Dee McMullin's annual Garage Sale benefiting Hearts and Horses! You can support Hearts and Horses by providing items for the garage sale, or by shopping the garage sale on May 2 and 3. Questions? Items to drop off or have picked up? Call Dee at 970-402-8045. Dee is still collecting items through the month of April.

For the third year in a row, this is a benefit for Hearts and Horses featuring dressage musical freestyle performances by the Paragon CDI***

It's April and we're already looking forward to summer and Summer Camp! Hearts and Horses is so fortunate to welcome back Sally, a favorite Summer Camp horse, for this session! Sally came to us last summer from one of our wonderful farrier, Wayne Phipps, and has left a loving impression on many of our riders and volunteers. As one of our leased horses, Sally spends part of the year with us and part of the year with her owner. We are so fortunate to have Sally as one of our equine therapists, and her owner is proud that she is able to touch so many lives. Thank you Wayne for all you do and for sharing your wonderful quarter horse with us! Be sure to check out Sally, she is a very light gray, quarter horse with a pink nose and a lot to say!

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month
We would like to thank all of our Volunteers for making Hearts and Horses a place that changes riders lives every day. We simply could not exist without all of the help and dedication that you all give to this organization. The riders and staff are extremely fortunate to have such a fabulous group of talented and passionate volunteers.
We had so much fun out here for Volunteer Appreciation Week! We would like to give a "shout out" to the CSU Social Work class we had help us develop a "theme" on each day!

We also have a set of Rockies Tickets that we would like to give away! Since the month of April is Volunteer Appreciation MONTH, for the rest of the month, please enter your name in to the glass jar each day you come out and volunteer. At the end of the month, we will pull out a name, and that volunteer will become the lucky recipient of Colorado Rockies Tickets! The winner will also become a volunteer spotlight on Facebook and Heartbeats!
It is humbling to think of the power of healing and life changing experiences that is created by the power of our Volunteers. Thank you so very much for the smiles, laughs and memories.

Cliff's Drive2Ride Spotlight : Miranda Lohry
Miranda is one of our wonderful volunteers and owns Rebel, one of our incredible four-legged therapists. Miranda says that Hearts and Horses "has changed my life for the better. Out at Hearts and Horses, I have met people who are another family to me and got a wonderful horse. Through donating to my page you are helping a another person get the chance to change their lives by being able to get a scholarship. This program got named after the wonderful man, Cliff Uber. He taught me so much through the few years I knew him, and this is a wonderful way to have his legacy live on."
