Cliff's Drive2Ride
Cliff's Drive2Ride is off to a wonderful start!

Thanks to the Hearts and Horses staff, volunteers, and equines who have created fundraising pages. Long-time Hearts and Horses supporter, Oscar Dehn, was the very first person to create a page this year. Over the past few years, Oscar has been one of our most successful fundraisers- reaching out to those around him in support of Hearts and Horses' mission.
Oscar says on his fundraising page: "So many wonderful things are happening at the facility and they are helping so many people that they were recognized as the 2013 non-profit of the year by the Loveland Chamber of Commerce. Will you help me keep all this great work going by donating to my page? The money will be used to offer scholarships to those in need. This is one of the most wonderful places I've ever been a part of."

Please join all of us in supporting the legacy that Cliff has left Hearts and Horses! Recently we found out that Cliff has left Hearts and Horses a legacy gift: $10,000 annually for many years into the future to be used as a matching challenge for Cliff's DRIVE2RIDE.
We need to raise at least $10,000 to satisfy the challenge.

For a little bit of fun, the Hearts and Horses herd has created a friendly competition. "Vote" for your favorite horse by contributing to their fundraising page! (Scroll down the page to find your favorite.)
The herd has created 5 teams:
- The Bachelors
- The Small but Mighty Crew
- The Lovely Ladies
- The Gracious, Good-looking Geldings
- The Picturesque Paints.
Right now the Bachelors are waaaay in the lead with $200, so if you have a horse you'd like to see in the running, contribute today!

Hearts and Horses Benefit Garage Sale
Dee McMullin will be holding her annual Garage Sale on May 2-3 as a benefit fundraiser for Hearts and Horses. She is taking donations of items through the month of April. If you're doing some spring cleaning and want to send your items our way, give Dee a call! Dee can be reached at 970-402-8045 to arrange for pickup or drop off or with questions.

Volunteers Needed!
Session 2 - 2014 is shaping up to be our biggest session ever, which means we need volunteers! If you are interested in volunteering in classes, email or call Katie at katie@heartsandhorses.org or 970-663-4200.

Calling all Gentle Giants!
Hearts and Horses is currently looking for gentle giants to add to our program! Do you have or know of a horse that is a big, beautiful buddy?

We are looking for horses around 1,500 lbs in weight, probably over 16 hands in height that can carry some of our adult riders, such as our veterans, on a regular basis. We accept horses from all backgrounds, but ask that they are completely sound and have full and complete vision. Typically, we look for horses that are between 8 and 16 years old that are physically, mentally and emotionally capable of working with a multitude of different riders in varied environments.
We are always excited to welcome new horses to our program, whether through lease or donation.
