Mentoring Program
We're starting the 2014 year off with an announcement of our Mentoring Program for Volunteers! This will be an 8-week curriculum that allows learning opportunities for current volunteers to practice a specific skill they have questions about and for new volunteers to learn the policies and procedures we follow here at Hearts and Horses. We will be limiting the class to 6 people per week. We will be assigning people on a first call, first serve basis. Once the limit of six people is reached, the class will be full for that week. Every week will be a new topic and will repeat with each eight week session. We are currently offering our Mentoring Class on Thursdays from 2:00-4:00 pm. It will be instructed by PATH Certified Instructors. Please refer to the schedule below to become familiar with the topics covered and the week in which they are offered. To Register, please contact Katie, our Volunteer Coordinator at 970-663-4200 x 311 or via email: katie@heartsandhorses.org

Refreshed Volunteers
Volunteers: We are implementing a new 2014 Volunteer Refresher requirement that will be taught by PATH Certified Instructors. All volunteers interested in helping in classes must attend an Arena Training. We will be offering classes twice a month to accommodate as many schedules as possible. We have the current dates posted on our website.
We will also be reviewing the grooming procedures, Western tack, English tack, proper use of the mounting ramp, hoof cleaning expectations, and bridling.
Volunteers on the Barn Team will also be required to attend a Barn Team Training within the 2014 year. This opportunity will cover the buddy system, haltering, and current policies and procedures.
Hearts and Horses hopes to help streamline and clarify any questions/concerns that volunteers have. Over the years, policies have changed and we want to make sure our incredible volunteers feel as well informed as possible. Please feel free to let any of the Certified Instructors know if you have any questions or concerns in our classes. Our aim is to bring cohesion and team building to our Volunteer Family. THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO!
