Rabies Law in Tennessee

TVMA has had a great response to the dinner meetings on Rabies Law in Tennessee.  Thanks to all who have participated.  The following meetings are still to come:

TVMA Contracts with Public Relations Firm

The TVMA recently entered into a contract with Varallo Public Relations with the purpose of expanding our efforts in communicating the importance of veterinary care to the public. TVMA's goal is to promote veterinary medicine to the public by building relationships with the news media, providing articles for publication in news outlets, and maintaining a presence on social media.        

     

Ebola Information

As a member of the Tennessee Health Joint Information Center, the TVMA has been involved in conversations with the Tennessee Department of Health and the CDC regarding Ebola and animals.  The TDH has announced resources available to Tennesseans which include a website and a toll-free number where you can obtain updated information.  Read more...

Legislation on Internet Tax

TVMA leadership recently met with Rep. Phil Roe (R-TN-1) regarding the Marketplace and Internet Tax Fairness Act (MITFA) to impress on him the importance of passing the legislation in Congress. MITFA would level the playing field for community-based bricks-and-mortar local businesses and provide certainty to American businesses looking for unencumbered access to the Internet.  Read more about the legislation...

Business Tax on Sales

The Tennessee Department of Revenue has published information explaining the requirements for business tax on tangible items and services.  Click here to read the document.  Be sure to read Example 2 which explains requirements for veterinary practices.


DEA's Final Rule on Disposal of Controlled Substances

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) final rule, published 9/9/2014 and effective 10/9/2014, will establish more options for the secure disposal of controlled substances by practitioners and their clients. This will benefit veterinarians, animal owners, and the environment alike by expanding options and reducing complications and confusion.  Read more...

Frank W. Duvall

With a heart of a teacher, Frank has a passion for walking along side others.  He has aligned himself with Capital Financial Group, LLC (CFG) based out of Brentwood to provide comprehensive financial analysis that includes customized estate, business succession, investment and retirement strategies.  Frank specializes in working with medical specialties and small business owners. 

 

Frank was born and raised in Nashville to a musical family and graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2007.  He is heavily involved in the community including the development of his local church, Gateway.  He is a Young Leader's Council alum and is serving on the Development Committee and board of directors for Waves in Franklin, TN.  He is an allied member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association. 

  

Frank enjoys spending time with family and friends, the outdoors, hiking, camping, Titan's football (even when they're bad) and, of course, playing guitar when he has time.  He married his college sweetheart, Ashley, and they are expecting a baby girl, Sadie Ruth, on November 12th
