The Fell's Point Fun Festival began as a small neighborhood festival 49 years ago as a way to raise money to fight against a project that would have linked I-83 and I-95 by building an elevated highway along the north shore of the Baltimore Harbor.
This project would have entailed extensive demolition within Fell's Point, and the highway would have cut off the remainder of the neighborhood from the waterfront. Over the years, The Preservation Society h as worked to maintain the 18th and 19th century character of the historic structures within Fell's Point.
The Society operates without cost to the city of Baltimore and it currently maintains many of the buildings as well as running historic tours of Fell's Point.
See You There !!

Other Fun Activities Around Town this Weekend
Oct 24th - First-Ever Baltimore Craft Beer Festival
Featuring 33 regional brew houses (and counting), this will be the largest gathering of Maryland craft brewers at one event in the state's history. Of course, there will be old standbys like Heavy Seas, Flying Dog, and Brewer's Art, but the organizers are also excited for up-and-coming outfits, like the Waverly Brewing Company and Suspended Brewing in Rockville, to be making their debut at the festival.
The festival will also feature a home-brew competition sponsored by Woodberry-based Nepenthe. Roughly 40 different home brewers will submit their recipes for a harvest ale to be reviewed by a panel of local experts.____________________________________________ SAT OCT 24 | FREE!

15 Differences Between a Normal Friend and a Boat Friend !!
1. A normal friend will respect your privacy and personal space. A boat friend grows accustomed to being in such close proximity to you, they never stray more than a few inches from you at all times, even on land.
2. A normal friend carpools with you to school or work. A boat friend rows, dinghies, SUPs, or just swims over to pick you up.
3. A normal friend will watch a movie with you on a bad weather day. A boat friend will come over and help you strip off outriggers, antennas, running rigging, and seal around hatches, ports, and lockers. They'll make sure cockpit drains are free-running, the bilge pump and switch work, and that the battery is topped up.
4. A normal friend considers talk about the weather to be small talk. A boat friend discusses weather intentionally, as you're immersed in the elements at all times. Your next night's sleep depends on it.
