Welcome Briana Green, Director of Career Services and Alumni Affairs:  The McCourt School is pleased to welcome Briana Green as our new Director of Career Services and Alumni Affairs.  Briana worked most recently as Associate Director of DC Area Outreach and Development at the University of Pittsburgh School Of Law.  Briana's office will be in Old North 103.  Email her to introduce yourself!   

 

Send Your Policy Perspectives Updates Today: The McCourt School wants to publish news about your career moves, advances in education, research, and books. Presidential Management Fellows Finalists Announced:
Congratulations to McCourt School alumni Anirudh Sarna and Henry Schleifer, who were recently selected as finalists for the 2014 Presidential Management Fellows program. Current students Rebecca Davison, Colin Huerter, Mason Ingram, Benjamin King, Hillel Kipnis, Andrew Brian Nguyen, and Rachel Wood were also selected as finalists. Senator Elizabeth Warren Delivers Annual Whittington Lecture: Senator Warren (D-MA) said the United States must consider the consequences of civilian casualties in future use of military force abroad. Learn more
 

McCourt School Hosts Privacy Principles Event: Keynoted by FTC Commissioner Maureen Ohlhausen and co-sponsored by the Georgetown Law Center, the McCourt School hosted its first major massive data event, Privacy Principals in the Era of Massive Data.

 

Tropaia No More:  In recognition of our new status as the seventh school at Georgetown, the McCourt School will hold our first official commencement ceremony this May. This is a big change from years' past, when degrees were conferred during the Graduate School of Arts and Science's commencement ceremony, supplemented by GPPI's "Tropaia" or awards ceremony. Learn more.

 

Alumni-Student Networking Happy Hour:  Local alumni joined the Women in Public Policy Initiative (WPPI) and other current students for an April happy hour at Elephant & Castle. WPPI members filled alumni in on a recent event that they hosted featuring a distinguished panel of women power players in DC.  

 

McCourt Students Win Case Study Competition: Stephanie Keller Hudiburg (MPP '15) and Xueting Wang (MPP '14) were selected as award recipients for the 2014 Case Study Competition hosted by the American Society for Public Administration Center for Accountability & Performance.  

 

McCourt School Student Conference Focuses on Immigration Reform: The 20th Anniversary of the McCourt School Policy Conference hosted panels examining the economic, international, and political perspectives and consequences of immigration reform.  

 

McCourt School Expands International and Executive Education Opportunities: The McCourt School of Public Policy will soon offer two new study abroad opportunities in Paris and Ghana and two new executive education opportunities. Learn more.

Sign Up for Hoya Gateway: Join fellow alums by signing up for Hoya Gateway, a platform for students and alumni to engage in one-on-one career conversations or job shadowing experiences. Hoya Gateway has launched in DC, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, meaning that many of you living outside the Beltway can still participate.  With many students heading home at some point over the summer, now is a better time than ever, to connect with students about career opportunities in those locations.
