SIZZLING SUMMER SOCIAL BY GROHE LIVE!

From left to right: Cheryl Dixon, Head of Brand and Trade Marketing for GROHE America, Kent Brasloff, President, NKBA Manhattan Chapter, Antonia Koller, GROHE Live! Center Manager

Members know the Summer Social is one of the most anticipated events of the year. On July 23, kitchen and bath professionals gathered at the GROHE Live! Center in Manhattan's Flatiron District where they were treated to product demonstrations and engaged in step-and-repeat in front of the colorful shower wall while sipping fabulous, fizzy cocktails from Grohe's Blue Chilled + Sparkling. "We were honored to host such a distinguished group of industry friends and celebrate summer with them," says Cheryl Dixon, Head of Brand and Trade Marketing for GROHE America. To revisit the evening (or if you couldn't attend), click on the link to our Facebook page, and see a recap. And please "like" our page while you're at it!

IN MEMORIUM - NOEL GRABILL
It is with great sadness that we note the passing on August 12, 2015, of our longtime friend and colleague, Noel Grabill. Noel was for many years the National Acquisitions Manager for Green Demolitions as well as a devoted representative and ambassador for Renovation Angels. A great supporter of our industries, Noel also gave generously of his time in service to organizations tending to those less fortunate. His enthusiasm, warmth, sincerity and genuineness were his signatures, and he will be greatly missed. We extend our condolences to Noel's wife, Beverly, and their family.

FROM OUR PRESIDENT

Could we have ordered a more perfect evening? For those who attended the NKBA/IFDA co-located "Sizzling Summer Social" at the GROHE Live! Center, you know that the temperature and the humidity cooperated, the crowd was dense, the networking was fierce and the lights had to be dimmed to let us know it was time to go! Whether you were scoping out new product in the showroom or enjoying the last rays of the sun on the roof deck, there was food, fun and fantasy cocktails in full rain-shower flow!
Speaking of which, special shout-out to Alix Anopol, Sales & Design Associate at Walker Zanger who won the "mocktail"-making contest and a $50 gift certificate to Eataly with the Grohe Blue-Chilled +  Sparkling Water Dispenser. Her lime-green libation was posted to Instagram and Twitter live from the event.
Many, many thanks to our Chapter Sponsor and the evening's host GROHE and to Head of Trade and Brand Marketing Cheryl Dixon and to Antonia Koller, GROHE Live! Center Manager for making it all possible.
As mentioned in last month's newsletter, there will be no program for August to give everyone a chance to relax and enjoy weather and water-boarding, sun and sand, mountains and Mojitos; whatever makes summer "summer" for you!
In September we'll be back with a program at Axor in the Meatpacking District on "What Your Plumber Wishes You Knew." It's a great follow-up to all the enticing new bath and shower products we've been seeing these last few months. The .01 CEU program offers credit not just to NKBA but to AIA, ASID, and NARI as well.
Please encourage your colleagues to join us and be part of the excitement!
In closing I would like to welcome our newest chapter sponsor, LeGrand Lighting, who will be joining us for 2016. Thanks to Sandra Tobar for making the introduction! We look forward to your participation.
