Story by Jesus Santos, NKBA-Manhattan Newsletter Editor
Co-hosted by NKBA-Manhattan and the International Furnishings Design Association (IFDA), the 2014 Holiday Party turned out a large and diverse group of guests on December 10th at its host location, the A&D Building's Sub-Zero and Wolf showroom. From NKBA board members and IFDA representatives to new and excited faces, everyone joined in the spirit of the holidays. Sub-Zero and Wolf's very own showroom manager/corporate chef, Coleman Teitelbaum, and his assistants doled out an impressive potpourri of mini sliders from their state-of-the-art appliances and gourmet kitchen.
Delicious bites tailored to every taste bud, including shrimp, lamb, salmon, and slow- roasted beef generously went round the room while a large bar at the back of the showroom served spirits. The evening's good energy was reflected in the attendees' faces and a year's worth of hard work and accomplishments filled the room with the call of glasses clinking and welcoming a prosperous 2015.

FROM OUR PRESIDENT
Happy New Year! As 2015 dawns my first order of business is to welcome our new board of directors and all of our new and returning auxiliary board members. NKBA-Manhattan couldn't happen without them, and I am grateful for their efforts which make so much possible and contribute to our continuing success.
January is no longer the sleepy, winter month it once was. Our calendar is full to bursting. The month began with twin inauguration events for incoming National President, Maria Stapperfenne, CKD, CBD.
First there was a cocktail party in the A&D Building co-hosted by GE Monogram, SubZero, Miele and NKBA- Manhattan's sponsor Thermador.
The next evening there was a posh dinner and induction ceremony hosted by NKBA-Northern New Jersey at the Hyatt Regency in Jersey City on the Hudson. Many members of our board turned out in high style to salute Maria and to support the national organization.
January 18th marks the start of the annual migration of kitchen and bath professionals to Las Vegas for KBIS, the largest kitchen and bath trade show in the country! I will be attending this year and look forward to seeing all of the new materials and technology that designers will have to incorporate into the average 60- square foot Manhattan kitchen in the coming year!
I also look forward to supporting board member Dave Burcher who will be presenting "Technical Difficulties": Innovative Solutions to Challenging Design Requests.
And while we're all away, plans continue for February's Chapter event Faucet Construction and Design, which will be held at Gracious Home and feature Franco Platini from Zuchetti in Italy. There's never a dull moment at NKBA- Manhattan. Won't you join us and be a part of the excitement?
