We pray you had a blessed Christmas and wonderful New Year! As we begin 2015 and a new season of SEND, we want to share with you some highlights from 2014 and update you on our plans for the coming year for SEND North America.
We have been extraordinarily blessed throughout the past months in the growth and development of SEND. Some ministry highlights from 2014 include the development of a fresh recruitment process for young adults, new teachings and mission excursions added to our curriculum, a SEND Coordinator to facilitate conversations and interest in SEND, and our first international young adult to successfully complete the application process for SEND 2015. This past year has certainly been full of surprises and blessings! We want to take a moment with you, our brothers and sisters, and thank God for these blessings and the privilege of doing ministry with young adults. You share our passion for equipping young adults in Christian discipleship, ministry, and missions, and for you, we also take time to thank God.
As I mentioned, we are looking forward to our first international SEND young adult from Belize participating in SEND in 2015. While this is a great blessing and has enormous potential for Kingdom impact, it brings a unique set of challenges which includes unique housing requirements, additional financial support, visa regulations, and supplementary travel arrangements. In order to accommodate these challenges and provide the best experience possible for all of our SEND young adults, we have decided, after thoughtful consideration and prayer, to delay the start date of our January 2015 session of SEND until September 2015. This postponement of the start of our January unit will combine the young adults from this session with those of our regularly scheduled unit in September 2015.
God has revealed to us that combining our January and September 2015 units into one fall SEND unit will provide the best experience for our young adults. This will lead to deeper faith, growth, and development for these young adults; we are so excited to see where God will take these young adults in the coming year through SEND! We ask you to join us in prayer during the coming months; please pray for our young adults who are currently signed up for September 2015, and for the young adults who God is calling to this journey, but have not yet applied.
Thank you for your ongoing support of this ministry. We thank God for such an amazing past year, and greatly look forward to all that 2015 has to offer! Please be on the lookout for more detailed information in the coming months regarding the September 2015 - June 2016 SEND schedule.
