News and Updates  from SEND North America
May 2013
Greetings in Christ from SEND North America!
We can't believe we are ending our second pioneering year of ministry! Wow! The time has flown by; and, tonight at our SEND training center, we are having our SEND graduation party. We have had an exciting year mixed with challenge, growth, perseverance, and direction! Thank you to all who have been involved on this missionary adventure. To all of our SEND North America Network: our supporters, teachers, churches, ministries, families, and friends, we are filled with gratitude. We look forward to year three, starting in just a few short months!

SEND Mission Trip - Belize

Towards the end of our exciting year of discipleship and mission training, we headed out for a third-world mission trip. Doing this kind of short-term mission is invaluable for our training, because what we learn there, we bring home to make us better missionaries in the United States. It also gives us the opportunity to put our amazing training into action! This year, SEND was beyond blessed to go to Belize and to be partnered with an incredible organization, CALMS. It was remarkable how much relational ministry we did with people all over the country. If you are thinking about a doing a third-world trip to Central America, please consider Belize. It is English-speaking, and you will not need a translator. It is very safe, and the people there are wonderful. Please remember to go with an organization that is all about the Great Commission and read the book When Helping Hurts before you go. When doing this kind of mission, you will be forever changed. Thanks to all the churches in our network who supported us to do this trip!
Experience SEND Weekends This Summer
This summer, SEND North America is inviting you to Experience SEND in a Weekend Immersion Event.  This event is designed to be a fun learning experience in which you are immersed into the SEND discipleship and mission model of ministry. For an entire weekend, we will be living out our faith in all areas. We will have amazing teaching, discipleship, ministry, and we will learn about Christianity as a movement. We will learn how the millennial generation now has a vehicle, a process in discipleship. The process is designed for young adults to find purpose and direction. They will draw closer to God more than they ever have while being trained as a modern-day missionary. In this jam packed weekend event, we will learn outreach strategies for the 21st century and what it means to be a missionary. We will go out into the world, doing hands-on mission training and learn what happens in one day in the life of SEND! For more information on our events hosted June 21-23 and August 2-4, check out http://sendnorthamerica.com

Prayer Request
As the second year ends, we are now in to full-time recruiting mode for the next unit starting this fall. Our prayer request is that we connect with the right millennials willing to be challenged and who want to pursue this process of discipleship and missionary training.

This generation is out there, wanting to do good and serve the Lord. We are doing everything to find them. We are actively searching and praying for young adults who want to find purpose and direction in life; individuals who would maybe want to pursue ministry as a career; young adults on fire for Jesus who want to usher in revival. These students are the future of our church.

Thank you for your prayer and support.  We thank the Lord for the two young adults who already joined our unit and are ready to live a life for Christ! If you would like Josh to speak to your church, youth group, small group, or ministry, please shoot him an email, at [email protected] and SEND leads our way!

SEND=John 20:21!

Until next month, thank you for all your prayer
support!

For this year, I am also raising my own support and raising additional funds for our ministry excursions.

If you can bless the ministry and have a heart for young adults and the future of the church, please send in your tax-deductible donation to Church Doctor Ministries, 1230 US Hwy Six, Corunna, IN 46730.

Thank you and many blessings to you and your families as we continue into 2013!

Sincerely,
Josh Humberger
