Sign up today for another fun and rewarding year as a Girl Scout troop leader! Early Bird is a great opportunity to register your troop early for the next Girl Scout year and be ready to go as soon as the 2016-2017 membership year starts.  

With Early Bird, not only is your troop ready to go in the fall, there's more...
  • Each girl will receive a glow-in-the-dark Early Bird patch (pictured right) with her registration completed and submitted by June 30, 2016.
  • Each parent will receive a 10% GSCV Retail Shop discount.*
  • Each 01 leader will receive a 15% GSCV Retail Shop discount.*
  • Each service unit will receive $1.25 per girl registered by June 30, 2016 to be used for girl programs at the service unit level.
*The discount would be available for one time use from the time the Girl Scout member Early Birds for the 2017 membership year until 9/30/16.

Camp Kittamaqund
Cost: $50.00 per person
Relax, reflect, and share your Girl Scout memories at a reception and dinner Friday night with special 100th Anniversary Girl Scout Gold Award highlights. Spend Saturday on the shady trails and light up the night with wish balls glowing in the campfire. Enjoy a Sunday send-off with coffee and a continental breakfast. Adults 18 and older. Gold Award Centennial Celebration
June 13-14, 2016
Washington, D.C.
Girl Scout Councils across the United States have been invited to join the Girl Scouts' Movement-wide celebration at the U.S. Capitol to celebrate the Gold Award Centennial. The event will celebrate and raise awareness of the Gold Award with all Members of Congress and Administration officials on behalf of the Girl Scout Movement.
 
GSCV is able to bring four (4) current Girl Scouts who are Gold Award recipients from the 2015 or 2016 Girl Scout years! Chaperones will be attending with the girls as well.
  
Activities include:
  • Lunch at the National Press Club with Anna Maria Chavez
  • Gold Award Reception on Capitol Hill
  • Meeting with elected officials
  • Special girl-led option!
The cost for this event is $350 per person and includes train and local transportation, all meals, hotel for one night, and additional program opportunities. We are asking families to contribute $50 for their Girl Scout to participate.
 
How do you participate?
Complete the online application using the link below by May 10, 2016. Participants will be selected and notified by May 13, 2016. At that time, more details about payment and travel will be included.

Adjusted Office/Shop Hours
The GSCV office and retail shop will be opening at 1:00pm on Thursday, May 12, 2016 due to an all staff meeting.
Host Families Needed
We are looking for host families for our international camp staff this summer! Families will be responsible for picking up staff from camp, providing meals and a place to sleep, and bringing them back to camp at the end of the weekend. The dates needed for host families are July 1-4 and July 22-24. For more details and to fill out the application, visit comgirlscouts.org/hostfamily.
 
Interested families should apply no later than Friday, May 20, 2016 so we can have time to review all applications. Email Erin Willis at [email protected] with any questions.

Planning a troop camping trip?
Troop Camping Essentials certification is required for anyone who will serve as a camp trained person for a troop at a troop or service unit camping event.

Troop Camping Essentials - June 11, 2016 (Prep Session: June 2)

First Aid/CPR/AED Adult and Child courses are required for any adult volunteer wanting to serve as the Level I first-aider for troop/group activities, programs, events and overnight camping.
