Save the Date for Amazing Raise
September 16-17, 2015
Get ready for the 2015 Amazing Raise, a 36-hour online giving challenge that inspires and empowers our Girl Scout community to show their support for Girl Scouts of the Commonwealth of Virginia. On Wednesday, September 16th at 6:00am, the excitement starts!

Last year GSCV raised over $5,000 to help provide meaningful and life changing experiences for girls. Research clearly supports the findings that demonstrate the benefits of participation in Girl Scouting and the skills girls learn through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Our program delivers "fun with purpose" and helps girls gain valuable life skills and amazing new experiences. Let's continue with this growing tradition and make this year's Amazing Raise online giving challenge an even bigger success than last year! When you give during this challenge, you can help us to win additional incentive prizes that will help even more to further our Girl Scout Movement.  You can find out more about this giving opportunity by going to https://www.theamazingraise.org/. Save the date and help us spread the word.

See Freedom Speak Patch Program
Saturday, October 3, 2015
8:30 am - noon
Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors are invited to visit the Virginia War Memorial and earn the See Freedom Speak patch. The Virginia War Memorial honors all Virginia veterans, but those who were killed in action during World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and Persian Gulf War are particularly honored in the Memorial's Shrine of Memory.  Spend the morning at the memorial participating in a 'boot camp' activity, scavenger hunt, watching films, and learning about women's role in the military. Each girl will leave with a patch as well.
Girl Scout Ranger Program
The National Park Service (NPS) invites Girl Scouts to explore the outdoors with their Girl Scout Ranger Program. Girl Scouts are invited to participate in a variety of existing, organized educational or service projects at national park sites, or design their own experience or project to align with Journey work, badge activities, or a Take Action or Highest Award project. Girl Scouts are awarded certificates and/or patches for their participation. For more information on how you can complete this program, visit the NPS website or check out this brochure.

Summer Camp Survey
Do you send your child to camp in the summer? This is for all families that send their children to any summer camp - not just our Girl Scout camps. We want to gather specific data about how parents and families shop for and purchase camp products/options for their children. Please take a moment to complete our brief survey about summer camp.
