Wal-Mart Booth Sale Announcement
Girl Scouts of the USA and Wal-Mart have announced a new partnership. Beginning with the 2014 Cookie Sale new guidelines have been established by GSUSA and Wal-Mart Stores nationwide. These guidelines specifically relate to troop booth sales. Troop leaders may continue to schedule their own booth sales with local Wal-Mart stores. Each Wal-Mart has been sent a notice of rules which outlines items 1 through 4 in the letter found here.
There are more than 30 Wal-Mart stores in the Girl Scouts of the Commonwealth jurisdiction. At this time the store located in Emporia, VA has indicated that they will no longer support Girl Scout Booth Sales. The store management has stated that they will not allow any organization to solicit outside of their store.
