Woods 'n Water/Autumn Adventure
It's not too early to register for Woods 'n Water and Autumn Adventure on COMAR! Woods 'n Water activities may include: climbing wall, duct tape 102, emergency preparedness, jewelry 103, leather craft, shotgun or archery. There are 3 Autumn Adventure weekends to take advantage of this Fall for your troop: Oct. 4-6, Oct. 11-13, Oct. 18-20.
Gold Award Review Meeting
Aug. 7; Sept. 18; Nov. 16; Dec. 14, 2013
The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest and most prestigious award that Girl Girl Scout Gold AwardScout Seniors and Ambassadors can earn. Part of the process for this award is to present your project to the Gold Award Review Committee for approval and guidance before starting. Make sure to submit your project proposal one month prior to reserving a time at the review session. The committee will offer you constructive suggestions that will help you refine your project. 2014 Volunteer Kick Off 
August 3 & 10, 2013  
Volunteer Kick Off is the ultimate planning event for volunteers! We invite all our leaders to attend a day long event that is guaranteed to inspire, inform,  and help build the best leaders in all of Girl Scouts! You can expect to learn more about Gold Awards, training, journeys, troop management, COMAR, program opportunities, and much more with lots of opportunities for questions and answers. Treasure Weekend
September 13-15, 2013  
Flashback to the 50s at Treasure Weekend! The event will include workshops, shopping at the trading post, and opportunities for learning and sharing with other adult Girl Scout volunteers. For a list of session descriptions and other important information, click here. Register on COMAR 
Backpack Training
October 4-6, 2013 
We have partnered with Colonial Coast to provide some training opportunities for our leaders that aren't available at this time within our council. They have offered spaces in their October 4-6 Backpack Training and trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains. This opportunity is open to all girls over the age of 14. No backpacking equipment is provided. To register for any of the classes, contact Colonial Coast's Sarah Spence, Customer Data Specialist at sarahs@gsccc.org or 800-777-2688, ext. 1248. Important Announcement Regarding First Aid Training 
You asked for more trainings, dates and locations and we listened! There are currently 2 training certification or re-certification courses available that are at risk of being cancelled due to no or low enrollment!  
Aug. 15 from 6-9:30pm (re-certification)
Sept. 26 from 6-10:30pm (certification)
If you are at risk of your certification expiring, please take advantage of these upcoming opportunities! Register on COMAR
Calling All Leaders Approx. 50 Years of Age & Older!
August 13, 2013 
GSCV has partnered with VCU School of Social Work-Catch Healthy Habits Program! They are offering training to any of our leaders approximately 50 years of age and older interested in doing an inter-generational physical fitness and healthy lifestyle experience with their troop! They are providing leader training at our Mechanicsville office on August 13 at 6 pm. The trainings include activities to be carried out during 4 troop meetings, physical fitness equipment for your troop to keep, and a mini-donation to your troop account. We need a minimum of 5 leaders to participate in each training. Some conditions do apply.  For more information or to register contact Kelsi Ramdeo at kramdeo@comgirlscouts.org.

Don't forget, too, that you can now visit our online shop to make your purchases!
Please note, council sponsored incentives (i.e., Cookie Dough, Early Bird discount, etc.) will not be accepted at the online shop, but only by the methods listed above.
