Present Road Conditions

The road are relatively clear with icy patches in areas that received no sunlight. Unfortunately, many residential driveways are still covered with ice. I surveyed the neighborhood around 2:30 this afternoon and it seem about 50% are still heavily encased with ice, with another 30% only partially clear leaving only 20% open to normal traffic. Tonight, we expect the temperatures to again drop so any water on your driveway will refreeze.

Garbage Pickup on Wednesday

We realize that the town has not had a pickup since Thursday, therefore we have decided to send personnel out on Wednesday to pickup all garbage that is placed on the curb. Additionally, residents can drop off their garbage at the Public Works department if this would be more convenient. If the weather cooperates, we expect to be back in full operation by Friday.

While we can do little about the present conditions, we hope this limited pickup will handle some of the trash that has built up while we wait for the ice to melt.
