A new weather event is approaching Westover Hills. In preparation for possible hazardous road conditions, crews from the Police and Public Works Departments were out throughout the night monitoring road conditions and preparing for adverse weather. We plan to place deicer on all hills to cut down of the potential for accidents. This deicer will be applied just as the event begins and should last up to 48 hours depending on how much rain and ice falls. We will also have a sanding truck out after the sleet and ice ends.
A secondary event may come on Saturday, inwhich case we will repeat the above procedure. We recommend caution when traveling during these weather event especially when approaching intersections.
Special Garbage Collection During Weather Event
It is expected that this ice event will likely result in the suspension of garbage collection for Friday, December 6th. This in an effort to provide residents with as much service as possible during these adverse conditions, a SPECIAL GARBAGE COLLECTION PICKUP WILL OCCUR TODAY BEGINNING AT 8:00 A.M. We urge all residents to place their garbage out for pickup at their usual locations.
We will send out a notice tomorrow to confirm if garbage will occur on Friday. All residents are encouraged to consult the Westover Hills Website at www.westoverhills.us for news and up to date information that affect the Town.
We appreciate your cooperation as we manage this weather event.
