As stated in the last report, crews from the Police and Public Works Departments were out throughout the night monitoring road conditions and preparing for adverse weather. Fortunately, the temperatures stayed warm enough to prevent water on the roads from freezing. At present, roads are wet but ice free and we expect them to remain that way throughout the day.
Concerning garbage collection for today, pickup will occur as normal today. Also the pickup week will be on the normal schedule of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We will also have a brush pickup on Tuesday however the Public Works Department will be closed on Thursday for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
ITEM OF NOTE:
A large section of the town west of Roaring Springs is experiencing intermittent power outages due to the weather. Your electric service provider has been notified about the issue and is working to restore reliable service.The cause and duration of the outage is not known at this time. If more detailed information becomes available, a news item will be posted on the website.
