Broken Valve From Fort Worth

May Cause Low Water Pressure

Fort Worth personnel contacted Westover earlier today to inform them of a valve failure at one of the three water vaults that feed water to the town. This failure occurred while Fort Worth was performing routine maintenance and testing on the vault infrastructure.

After completing maintenance on the vault located at 5800 Merrymount Road the stem to the valve that controls water flow through the vault failed in the closed position. This will require that the valve be dug us and replaced. Thus, Fort Worth has spent most of the day getting utility located and equipment for the project. Around noon, Westover was informed that due to logistical problems repairs must be put off until Monday May 29th.

This problem may affect some residents that may experience low water pressure issues throughout the weekend. However, we feel that these issues will likely be localized to residents located on Merrymount, Spanish Trail, Mount Royal, and Hidden Creek although others may experience a problem.

If you have questions or concerns please contact the Westover Hills Police Department at (817) 737-3127.

Thank You for your forbearance as these repairs are made.
