ATMOS Energy Project Set To Begin Soon!
The town has received notice from ATMOS Energy of their intent to replace gas lines along Merrymount Road, Spanish Trail, and Mount Royal.
This project will consist of locating all utilities, by digging in the street and behind the curb, on the Town's Right of Way. After all utilities have been traced out, ATMOS crews will begin boring and replacement of their lines.
A reason for the project is outlined in a prepared statement from ATMOS Energy:
"This work is required to address the Cast Iron infrastructure that continues to present maintenance issues in this area. By doing this project it will better the service reliability and lessen the gas service interruption to the customers on this system. Atmos Energy intends to install a new poly gas main and abandon the current cast iron gas main and increase the delivery pressure from low to intermediate pressure."
Work is set to begin on January 21, 2013 and is estimated to continue for the next three to five months.
