West Nile Surveillance Update
West Nile Surveillance Update

This update is to keep residents aware of present West Nile Surveillance activities within the city limits.

On August 28, 2012 we submitted mosquito samples to Tarrant County to determine how prevalent the virus was in Westover Hills. All three samples came back negative for WNV. These results indicate that our proactive approach has had an effect. While we are happy about these results, we are also aware that infected birds that carry the disease are still present in the area and that with the end of the rains and the rise in temperature mosquito populations are again on the rise. Therefore, as a precaution we have decided to continue street fogging and larvasiding activities until further notice.

So please be advised that we are planning to fog today beginning at 10:30 PM and ending by 1:30 AM on Friday. All residents are encouraged to cover ornamental pools and protect pets during this spray event. For questions on present planned activies please contact Tim Chambers at (817)737-8442 or email me at t.chambers@westoverhills.us .

These activities will be carried out by employees of Ridall Pest Control services. Some activities such as Backpack fogging  and Larvaciding may require them to enter and work at various locations on your property. They will be wearing shirts displaying their logo.
  Ridall Pest Control Personnel
They will also be designated as "Mosquito Control" on the back of their shirts. If you have any concerns regarding their entrance on to your property please contact the police
department at (817) 737-3127.
