Rock Springs Elementary Welcomes Back Students
We are happy to welcome back our students for the 2016-2017 school year.  This week we have worked hard on our 7 Habits of The Leader in Me and look forward to a great school year!

Rock Springs 2nd Graders Study American Symbols
Second grade students at Rock Springs Elementary began the first week of school with a study of American symbols. Special thanks to Mr. Boyd and Mr. Lequieu for teaching us the proper way to display, fold, and show respect for our wonderful flag.

Colonial Heights Middle Teachers Escaped!
We All Escaped.

As part of problem solving/team building training, CHMS teachers visited the Escape Room in Kingsport.

Thanks to West Colonial Hill Baptist Church

Thank you to West Colonial Hills Baptist Church for "sprucing" up the Colonial Heights Middle School Campus for our community.

Fun Fest Mini Maker Faire
During Funfest, math and science teachers from South had a booth at the Mini Maker Faire. Children were able to build their own catapult and launch marshmallows at a target. Over 100 catapults were built and tested by attendees. Helping them were South faculty Ruth Leonard, Becky Grese, and Lisa Watson as well as South Alums Heather Harvey and her mom, Lynne as well as future Rebel, Katie Watson.
The Mini Maker Faire is an annual event showcasing makers and what they do. The purpose is to encourage our natural tendency to tinker. The Kingsport event is free to makers and visitors. Maker Faires are a growing movement occurring throughout the US with the national event this past summer in Washington DC.
United Way Helps Spruce Up Miller Perry Elementary
The United Way of Kingsport helped spruce up Miller Perry's walls with a fresh coat of  paint! This team of volunteers worked diligently on June 21st with Principal Angie Baker and second grade teacher Mel Harris to make the school even more beautiful! The volunteers were so excited to lend a hand and make a difference! Miller Perry would like to thank the efforts of Becca Sutphen for all her help in coordinating the volunteers. These people make the Week of Caring a reality! THANKS!
