Students at Bluff City Elementary are So KIND |
Once again, the Bluff City Elementary "kindness" club met after school this week; just before the snow hit! The twenty-two 4th & 5th graders were happy to do acts of kindness for others; sorting, cleaning, and making bird feeders! We always have an abundant number of students and staff that can stay after school and help!

Emmett Elementary News |
Students Share Heartfelt Feelings
In Mrs. Allen's Guidance class they are learning to name and share a variety of emotions. Students creatively use play dough to design expressive faces and discuss their own feelings. Emmett students have such wonderful hearts and are great about sharing love with others!
What's Happening in Pre-K
In Mrs. Huff's Art Class Pre-K students learned about how you can make beautiful art from recycled Materials. They used recycled Teacher Folders as the Background of their Valentine art and painted with recycled old Markers. They also learned how you can take old markers that are dried out and add them to a cup of water overnight to create watercolor paint.
Pre-K has been reading fairy tales and fables. We have learned about fact and fiction, characters, setting and what problems arise in the stories along with how the problem is solved. We have created puppets in order to retell and act out the scenes of each story.

SNHS Culinary Arts One of the Elite by Brandi Begley (Raider Roar Reporter) |
Sullivan North High School Culinary Arts has again excelled in the culinary field. The Culinary Arts program, for the second consecutive year, has been selected as one of the top 50 hospitality programs by the National Center for Hospitality Studies at Sullivan University in Kentucky. Only four schools in Tennessee received this award, with Sullivan North being the only school in east Tennessee. 350 schools nationwide applied for this award and only 50 received it. The Elite 50 requires programs to supply an original recipe with picture, two essays from students on the topic "Why I want to pursue a career in hospitality", as well further information about the school's program. In addition to the Raider Cafe, which serves a weekly luncheon for the staff at North, the program also offers catering services. Every year, the Elite 50 recognizes secondary schools that demonstrate commitment to hospitality and culinary excellence. Mrs. White had this to say, "It is a great honor to be selected as an Elite 50. I am very proud of my students and what they have accomplished."
