Central Heights Elementary Student Places 1st in Gymnastics Meet

Carley Brown, a second grader at Central Heights Elementary, competed at the "Paws for a Cause" gymnastics meet in Atlanta on February 7th.  She won gold medals in balance beam, vault, and bars competitions. She also had a fourth place finish in the floor competition.  We are proud to say Carley finished first all around in that prestigious and highly competitive meet during which she represented East Tennessee Cheer and Gymnastics in Kingsport.

Sullivan Central Student 2016 Candidate for Queen of Hearts Campaign
Kealy Childress is the daughter of Keith and Anissa Childress and the granddaughter of Hal and Barbara Salley, Bob and Belinda Childress and Gail Childress.  Kealy is a senior at Sullivan Central and has represented her school for four years as a member of the varsity cheer team.  Kealy was voted by the student body as Miss Cougar and football homecoming queen.  She earned the senior superlative as being the most likely to make everyone smile.  She is committed and involved in the school Beta Club, EPIC Team, Journalism, Key Club, Math Honor Society, National Honor Society, Respect and Leadership and World Language Honor Society.  She is active in her church and enjoys volunteering and helping others.  After college, Kealy plans to obtain an advanced degree in the medical field.  Her inspiration comes from the loss of her great-grandmother, who suffered from heart disease.  She is inspired to raise funds for advanced technology and research to help save lives.

The campaign is vital to the success and future of heart research projects in the region and has raised more than 2.2 million dollars since its inception in 1964.

Donations can be sent to:  Tri Cities AHA Queen of Hearts, 3101 Browns Mill Road, Suite 6, Box 321, Johnson City, TN 37604.  Please be sure to include Kealy's name on your check.
