Sullivan Central Key Club & History Club Spread Cheer to Veterans
Twenty-eight students from Sullivan Central's Key Club and History Club went Christmas caroling at the VA hospital. They also went to the Ronald McDonald House to drop off can tabs that the school collected during spirit week. The tabs weighed an astonishing total of 58 pounds!
During caroling, they went throughout the halls of the hospital to sing several different Christmas songs. The students belted out the lyrics to We Wish You A Merry Christmas, Feliz Navidad, and Silent Night, among many other festive songs. They also delivered Christmas cards to the veterans; the smiles on all of their faces were priceless! The kids loved getting to touch the hearts of these people who had once helped protect their country. Mackenzie Coffey, a member of Sullivan Central's Key Club, says, "My favorite part of the trip was knowing that I was giving back to the veterans who have risked their lives for us."
Later that afternoon, the students ventured to the Ronald McDonald House to drop off can tabs that had been brought in by the school. The workers then took the kids to some different areas throughout the house to see their very creative Christmas trees. The students enjoyed seeing the upside down tree, Cat in the Hat tree, snowman tree, and many others.
Overall, the members of Sullivan Central's Key Club and History Club had a wonderful field trip. They came to the conclusion that, "The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!"

Sullivan Central History Club Collects Items for Veterans
The Sullivan Central History Club organized a class competition to collect items for veterans at the VA Medical Center in Johnson City. Items collected included: scarves, hats, and gloves. These items were placed in care packages and sent to the VA Medical Center. To support the History Club and to show appreciation to our veterans, Mrs, Flannary's Graphic Design students designed, printed, and donated over 150 t-shirts to the veterans.
