Colonial Heights Students Volunteered During Fun Fest

Colonial Heights art students served the community during Fun Fest.  They volunteered to assist with a Tie Dying workshop at the FunFest headquarters. A limited number of white t-shirts were available to the public to purchase and personalize with fun dying techniques. It was a great summer opportunity for fun and creativity!!

 Reaching Students...Changing Lives

New teacher, Sandra Ligocki, waits patiently and watches as Jordan and Carson Tester discuss a move on their new Differentiated CandyLand game. Ms. Ligocki designed and created this game to allow her students to work together while working on different skills. The students discuss possible answers, making sure Carson gets to move his card to a new space on the board.

This is just one example of how teachers at Bluff City Elementary are working to engage students in unique and active learning opportunities, allowing them to apply skills in a variety of ways and grow academically every day.

 Summer Reading Challenge at ISE

These Indian Springs 4th and 5th graders rose to the challenge, reading 1,500 minutes over their summer break.  Mrs. Mains and Mrs. Milam and super proud of their accomplishment.

 Miller Perry Fifth Grade News

Fifth graders at Miller Perry have worked diligently this first week of school to create a brochure highlighting the expectations that have set for themselves in the coming year.  They also developed, voted upon, and agreed to consequences they felt were fair, should the expectations not be met.  They did a fantastic job!
